Zak Deckich dude come on bro, I've loved cars my whole life and I would consider myself a "car guy" I have never had the opportunity to run a car at a strip...
freedefenderg89 you need to go then, never understood how some try's to make a living in the automotive industry and thinks they are car guys but never raced their entire life. Pretty sad
Zak Deckich it doesn’t matter if they have raced or not. You can put a girl in the drivers seat and she’ll still race but if you ask her how much horsepower she’s runnin, she won’t know. What I’m saying is it doesn’t matter if you have raced or not. It matters if you know the knowledge and background of it.
How does this channel have 424k subscribers.. Never been a fan of this guy's videos. Not informational whatsoever and don't really know what they're doing behind the wheel..
This guy does good reviews but has no clue how to drive. Car has no-lift shift and does not use it , probable does not know what proper settings and modes to use .its a 12.1 second car stock and although running it at crappy density altitude , still should have been way quicker. "Break my 1/4 mile cherry"..... Says a lot right there.
@@Jesusprayerwarriorbw That's not the whole story. I lived in Denver for 5 years and raced a CTS-V, an EVO IX, and an SRT-4 there. My 2006 Evo IX with only a boost controller dyno'ed 290whp, and I ran 13.1 @ 104, Hell even my BONE STOCK dodge neon srt-4 ran 14.030 @ 99.97. So 13.9 @ 105 out of a car that should be making at LEAST 350 to the wheels even after altitude losses is pathetic. I am expecting numbers close to that with my hyundai veloster, granted at only 2,000ft ASL.
@@Sayno86 yeah but did you see the Evo run before his car. 15.0 . Evo X should do 13.5 stock. Looks like everything is slow at that track. S2000 16.5 those are low 14s all day stock.
@@MrJjburgess11 I haven't been in the EVO/DSM scene for a while, but my stock EVO IX ran 13.4 @ 102 at bandimere, I am not sure if an EVO X is faster or slower than a IX.
Go on yellow. Don't wait for the light to turn green. You lose time that way. you get several inches of rollout till you trip the sensor. So going on the last yellow light will almost always give you a green light.
+jeff patterson no kidding, that obviously was an SS that likely was mostly stock but driven by a much better driver( he had a really good reaction time too)
Just remember Roman don't get too caught up in you versus the guy next too you, it's you vs. the time. I think you did pretty good for your first time!!
I just took my car the the drag for the first time the other week as well, and it;s a lot harder to launch than I expected. I have an E46 M3. It's like launching off on a wet road with oil all over it. Definitely more respect now to those who drag.
Bmw M3 e46 pretty good actually, thanks haha. 167,000 miles, and perfect compression, and never left me stranded. Can't say that about the Nissans, Toyotas, or Fords me and my family have owned
Actually, for its time, the Honda S2000 is a technological marvel. 🤔 Back in 2004, I was finally able to buy my first new car. 2004 Corvette convertible. 350hp. One night on I-64 in Hampton Roads, VA, heading towards Williamsburg, at night after work, an S2000 came up on me. I also won...BARELY. 😉
Roman says no one told him he had to wear it so he didn't. Helmets are very dangerous in cars with airbags. They can cause more harm than good in the case of an airbag deployment.
+Jay Trock - Pulling fuses during off-road driving is understandable because of the potential of sensors being activated by heavy vibration or a hard landing, etc. That is off topic. -- Unless you had your head tilted an abnormal amount backward with your full face helmet's chin guard pointing nearly skyward , there is no way an airbag's deployment could cause harm to you. My example refers to a POSSIBLE basilar skull fracture. The likelihood of this occurring is quite low and the benefits of wearing a helmet far outweigh this remote chance of airbag injury due to wearing a helmet. I need not include what can happen with a short driver whom has the seat moved very close to the steering wheel because manufacturers have warned against doing that since the '80s. Additionally, nice site you found as a reputable source to debunk that theory, +CareerFireman - I completely agree with you. Misinformation is bad advice. You probably see or hear of it in multiples compared to us not in the rescue profession.
+Racer Fuses are pulled for offroading because side and curtain bags have gone off when the vehicle sensors thought the vehicle was going to roll over even at very low speeds.
Just because others do it doesn't mean it's a good idea or that it's smart to give others bad advice. As an ex-fireman, I will agree with CareerFireman that removing the airbag fuse is very bad advice.
How does he NOT think doing a burn out is the faster way to a quicker time? But says in the beginning of the video he has always loved drag racing. EVERYONE knows burnouts before the green light heats up the rear tires which in turn gives you TRACTION. Especially if you not using drag slicks.
+Servant of JESUS CHRIST Perhaps you misunderstood. On his second run Roman did a short burnout when he launched the car...not before to warm up the tires.
+WarmSoftKitty - Your reply is completely inaccurate. Traction control on OR not, with better traction capabilities (warm rubber), you will have a quicker time as a result as long as you drove the car correctly as well as having a car that would actually SPIN the tires because it had enough power to do so. Additionally, who in their right mind would attempt to drag race using actual mud or snow tires except, perhaps a 4 wheel drive truck or SUV driver that chose to take a quick stroll down the drag strip? Bridgestone Blizzak tires have been one of the best winter tires available for many years and they certainly hook up better when they are warm as opposed to being cold. ALL rubber, as long as it isn't overheated will grip better than cold rubber on ANY surface besides snow, which of course would garner no benefit either way by a change.of the rubber's temperature. I have no idea where you came up with your information but it isn't sound reasoning. Please share your source so they can be questioned as to why, also. Misinformation is bad information.
+WarmSoftKitty I ran on Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 once with a burnout and after about 20 minutes of sitting in line, I made a run without a burn out and my time was almost half a second slower the run with no burn out. Lesson of the day...unless you have Prius tires on your car, do a burn out.
+WarmSoftKitty you must've had lemon tires then because they were great tires for me. I have Continental ExtremeContact DW right now and they are great tires as well, but the Potenzas actually had better cornering traction and initial launch grip. but the contis are far better in the wet and wear much better as well. all while gripping for days.
Not sure why those times are so high. I have seen quite a few of these run low 12’s on stock tires, bone stock. He should have either tied or beat that Camaro.
+Lomas Ticas 8.9L is 542ci; definitely within realm of possibilities with a decent budget. You easily order engine that big in a catalog and have it installed with enough money.
The camaro is 100 percent modified this guy saying when race a camaro this is what happenes are you kidding me ? The atsv stock vs camaro stock no chance for the camaro 0to 60 3.8 but he launched worong even with the s2000 I have ats- and i kill every camaro mustang m3 srt rolling and drag
These typically run around a 12 flat at around 119mph with a good driver and a good track at sea level. There's a guy who has run an 11.2 with just a tune and downpipes and that's on the stock tires. With drag radials and those two items, it's a 10 second car all day. I can see these running mid 10's once poeple have figured them out and there's some more mods available (that's on stock turbos imo).
I'm glad you had so much fun Roman. Keep getting out there. Side note, here guys are running 12.0's at 114 in the Auto's at sea level. Bone stock vehicles.
