I’ve owned this 2016 Citroen Berlingo Multispace (2015-2017 version) Euro 6 diesel auto for 8 months / 5,000 miles. So I’ve decided to tell you all my thoughts on it, what I like and what I don’t, showing running costs and features. I also have a good look around the outside and inside, pointing out useful features and drive it so you can hear the noise levels etc.
Please comment if you want any more videos on this car.

I’m a professional upholsterer and have used one of these for 10 years or more, I can get small sofas, wing chairs , chaise longue, 6 large dining chairs in with ease! And can put the seats back in when I want to use it for social. I also use mine for camping. Great vehicle.

A very useful review, thanks for posting. Nice to get a genuine review from someone who has owned one for a while. I have the previous model Multispace so your review is useful for when I need to replace it. Cheers.

hi tim great review for such as me who's researching. question though, do you think it would tow a small 2 berth caravan. regards kev
@baldytimsreviews8204
@baldytimsreviews8204 3 года назад
It’s got a kerbweight of around 1300kgs so would have easily towed the 2 berth Bailey Ranger we had that had an MPTLM of 1235kgs and many 2 berths are way less as you probably know.

It would be handy if you went over in more detail of the interior features such as cruise control, any tips on how to switch from manual to automatic if you've never drive auto before, displays on the unit such as mpg etc. I've test driven this model 2015 plate though and seriously considering it though I couldn't get it to pull out quick enough out of roundabouts etc. Otherwise a really good video, covered most of the things I was after. Thanks.

Many thanks, glad you found it useful. That was just a general overview video and I’m planning more on this car soon so I’ll try to include what you want to know. It is a bit slow pulling out on roundabouts as the power ‘pick up’ isn’t the best, but you kind of get used to it and adapt over time. I believe the newer version of the Berlingo auto has 8 rather than 6 forward gears which probably makes things better, so maybe a test drive of one of those to compare might be good?

@@baldytimsreviews8204 Thanks Tim, I'm leaning towards the one I already test drove as it's damn near unused (3500 miles) so I'll have to learn to drive it properly. Can I ask, how does "clutch control" work on a hill given that it has no clutch? Or do you just hold the break then quickly accelerate?

Hi, I’ve just uploaded another video answering these questions and more so please give it a watch. I thought I was doing well getting one with 13,000 miles on the clock so 3500 is amazing. Definately worth going for if the price is right. Thanks

@@baldytimsreviews8204 thanks Tim, just watched it. I just remembered something else, the start stop. I didn't have one on my previous car but was intrigued by the idea. I noticed it worked well whenever we stopped at lights or junctions and my foot was on the break but whenever I used the handbrake it wouldn't come up. Was I supposed to do something else or does it not work in that scenario? Going again tomorrow, all being well I will pull the trigger :)
@baldytimsreviews8204
@baldytimsreviews8204 3 года назад
The stop start works very well with almost seamless and immediate start ups but yes when at lights, with foot off the brake, it starts back up as it thinks you’re about to go. If you turn the selector dial to neutral it will work again however. Probably only worth doing if it’s a long-ish wait. Good luck with your purchase, sounds like you’re getting a good one. I’ve not regretted my purchase in over 8 months of ownership.

Never have it done at a Citreon dealer the service , they allways pull that stunt on changing the brake fluid

I’d need a second mortgage to do that from those guys I went to, no more main dealers for me, I’ve got a reputable independant garage lined up for next time.

Would one of these be ok for someone who's just passed their test at like 20 ? Or would insurance be too high ?

Is that a 3 pin plug in the rear window at 2.20. Looks like it’s for the wiper but looks like a house hold plug.

I think what you saw is just for the rear wiper unless you were looking at some of my stock in the boot, I’m a sparks and actually do keep some plug sockets in the boot for my customers lol. Think it does have a USB but will check for you tomorrow and come back

Hi Tim I’m looking at the same model but best I’ve seen so far is 2016 75k miles for 7grand. What did you pay for this?
@baldytimsreviews8204
@baldytimsreviews8204 3 года назад
Hi, I believe I paid around £10k for mine, slightly high price really but it only had 13k miles, was under 4 years old at the time, fully serviced and from a maim dealer. It’s proven to be very reliable so far with no faults, so worth it in the end I guess. Hope you find a good one soon.

@@baldytimsreviews8204 thanks tim, how have you found the auto transmission on it? Found a 2017 model 15k miles for around 10k but its auto. Not my personal preference really. But is it nippy on the auto getting out of the junctions etc?
@baldytimsreviews8204
@baldytimsreviews8204 3 года назад
I personally love the auto for the most part, easy to drive of course and it’s actually more economical than the manual too. No problems pulling out of junctions, it seems to have a pretty decent turn of speed. My only criticisms are that it seems to delay in changing up gears a fair bit sometimes. Also with the changer being a knob on the dash and there being a bit of a ‘lag’ in changing gear sometimes, doing a quick 3 point turn can be a bit of a challenge. Can be worked around by thinking ahead. Overall I’m very happy with it after nearly 15 months of ownership.
