By far the best channel for car reviews. Im really put off by UK reviewers with their negative attitude against everything originating from France. Plus this channel goes much more thoroughly through the cars, 2-3 times longer videos. Great channel.

Hello Thomas! We had already paid a deposit on a renowned car when unexpectedly we came to know about the C4 Cactus. As soon as we saw it in the showroom, yes, I can say, we "fell in love" with it and we could not but cancel the deposit for the C4 Cactus! Nothing to regret and very happy. We agree with your comment in the sense of a hate or love relationship vis-a-vis the Cactus. You just hit the nail on its head! Ours is the Shine 16 diesel automatic with panoramic. That forward head movement during gear change is reduced to nil the more you drive and the way you drive the car. Of course it's not the perfect car...but, who or what is perfect? Very good review, thank you. I own this car, ETG 6, Diesel, 100HP, Baltic Blue, mica blue chairs, panoramic sun roof. To be well understood, I have to highlight that I drive as a company car, a Skoda Superb, Laurin & Klement - 190HP, DSG, full options, in any meaning. Of course, there is no match between those two...but... On short...I drove many cars,of many kinds and sizes, so far...Citroen C4 Cactus is surprisingly the most liked car. Is comfortable, soft in suspensions. elastic in gearbox, it has enough power and torque, when needed. Every time I use it I have the feeling of leaving in holiday. The automated gearbox is superb...and you know what? It keeps you from making stupid things on the road. You know the car is not aggressive, so you have to adapt your driving style accordingly. The drive is smooth, soft, and relaxing The panoramic roof worth's every penny. I was afraid of having to much heat on sunny days , but we just left behind some days over 40 deg. Celsius and Cactus was cooler than Skoda Superb, both kept in the same parking lot, in direct sun. For me and my family Citroen C4 Cactus is the car that makes us smile . If you are looking for a nice, simple, smooth, silent and comfortable car, you can't be wrong with it. If you are looking for a powerful, more spacious, exquisite car, than you have to look somewhere else.

Hello Thomas! 11 months have passed since I bought the Cactus C4, as you can see from the comments section of Autogefuhl. I enjoy every meter I drive it. True in the beginning I was worried if I had made the right decision in buying the Cactus because of that forward head jerk when the semi automatic changes gear from first gear upwards (not downwards, funny enough). From experience, now, I learned that one has to "learn" how to drive a semi automatic car even if I have been driving cars since licence age (or before - sheeee). When I "feel" that the car is going to change gear, I lift my foot from the gas pedal - just as when changing gear on a manual car you have to press on the clutch and lift up the gas pedal. In doing so NO FORWARD HEAD JERKS! I have discussed this with our local dealer and in fact I was told that they are advising new clients how to drive the semi auto Cactus. Thomas you are very "hard" on your reviews. A perfectionist approach. But that makes your reviews more true, objective and interesting. Keep it up and be careful on the road! joe

Citron you need to change these elememts for your next update. 1. sliding rear window, equally cheap but let in much more air. 2. split back seats, make them fall flater as well 3. larger back opening so the boot floor can be accessed without intrusion. 4. a nob for the air con, touch screen is simply too complicated 5. a f1 like rev indicator on top of the speedometer, wont be expensive to implement. 6. a more rigid manual gear nob if possible but i wont expect much

I wish Citroen would bring cars like these to Brazil :( I would totally buy instead of having a normal looking Honda Fit, it seems to suit my age idk haha I really enjoyed the whole idea of the colors in the panel and the seats. Much much better than just have black leather or some random fabric. Great review, very conclusive! I really enjoyed watching.

The automated manual is very good. If you accept that's it's not an automatic, but simply a robotised manual, lightweight, so a great addition to fuel mpg, you have to learn how to drive it, gentle pressure on the accelerator works perfectly, and it picks up speed quickly, kicking down heavily on the pedal simply causes the nodding head issue, the robotised manuals give better mpg than the 5 speed manual gear, and believe me, once you learn how to use it, it is as smooth as silk. Brilliant

Sehr gute Review. Ich habe mir zwar jetzt den Mazda 3 gekauft aber den Cactus finde ich sehr interessant. Citroën ist nun keine Automarke, die ich mir kaufen würde, allerdings ist das Design einfach polarisierend, mutig und das ist klasse! Man muss es nicht mögen, allerdings bringt der Cactus und der neue C3 endlich visuelle Abwechslung in den Automobil Alltag. Citroën hat es in Deutschland nicht leicht aber ich denke, mit dem Design werden sie erfolgreicher sein als bisher.

Great review, I love that you get around every little detail :-) I am a bit torn regarding this car. I love the design (both inside and outside) and all of the different details, but I do not like the quality. I have not driven it, only touching and sitting. Everything feels so cheap and in Denmark it is not that cheap, at least not in the top line with the big diesel engine.

When closing the door the first time i had the same impression that you had...

It isn't just money saving, it's all about weight saving to improve mpg..

Maybe if they specified seat size, so one could order a seat that fits there body frame? I think it's a very important issue that should be addressed with smaller vehicles

Cool review but not sure you have driven the 110hp 3-cyl turbo engine which is a marvel on quite heavier cars such as the Peugeot 308 or the C4 I loaned the other day. HDI sounds so guttural I don't think I'd stand it for long other than city driving but at least this one is rated Euro6... Anyway, I think they have done a nice job reinterpreting the 2CV without having to resort to neo-retro stuff such as the MINI or the Beetle.

Anyway, it's a strange car the Cactus, as it fills 50% of an urban niche, with its rubber body parts, and trendy style, and 50% of a rural niche, with a raised ride height, and chunk diffusers. We all know that more city-dwellers will buy it than farmers, but what do you think it's suitable for? It might be the same in Germany, here in England, we have some cities, especially in the north, with very narrow streets, that you couldn't fit a Cactus through. For that, the VW Up! or Toyota Aygo is a good idea, so I don't really know where it fits. What do you think?

Citroen could use rimless steering wheel and move quite many functions much closer to driver by adding a screen on center of steer.

Typical german reviewer, i would never go for a yellow car for daily use, ha ha ha. No matter what colour a cactus has, it looks extremely beautiful.

Why do the LEDs and fogs keep going on and off? Don't think this happens on my UK-spec Cactus?

The 1.2 puretech 82 is excellent on the motorway, I was shocked with its effortless ability to cruise at high speeds, and remain stable and smooth, plus it feels really agile......so am afraid Thomas was wrong when describing it as a good city car, but maybe not for motorways....

In the Tesla all buttons despite of the Warning flasher are on the touch screen!!!

Love the design of it and have been thinking about checking out a used one now. But what scares me above all is how you sit in it, I'm even taller than the test driver but despite that have mostly owned cars in that class or even smaller size, I mostly drive in town but sometimes it happens that I also drive 500 miles in a distance, so needs a car that is suitable for that as well. From what I can read, that diesel draws very little and that it is probably the biggest selling point with the car (strange that you didn't test if this was true?), for me this is important both from an economic point of view but also because you want to be kind to the environment . Two other things I would probably have had a bit of difficulty with is, as you point out, that there is no protection for the panoramic roof, but also that you cannot set the heating and cooling via buttons, this is also not possible with buttons from the steering wheel? So yes, I'm going to try one and really want to like it because I really love the look on the exterior, so nice that someone stands out a little, I could have easily had the yellow one, very practical if you have to find it in a large parking lot you can see it Immediately. However, I don't think it will end up with me buying a dull gray Mazda 3, I simply think that the minuses with the car, especially the driving position, will be a bit too big.

I were actualy looking at this car, i have a Skoda Fabia greenline but i am lookinh for a car with low fuel consumption, diesel and automatic gearbox.

ok so I get that a lot of people like the design/shape of this car.... I GET IT!....BUT the back window system is completely not acceptable for 2016..... SERIOUSLY CITROËN? I know you automakers are trying to save money but at least include the old manual roll down window system....COME ON......!

the door sounds cheap....ha ha ha....what a blabber + petted cheeky brat ... ...you get a Diesel engine with 3 Liter / 100 km consumption + climatic inside. More is not necessary. I checked this car 400 km on German Autobahn and filled up 12 Liter Diesel = costs 12 € ... consumer-price: 12.500 € ( 1 year leasing-return, max. 18.000 km ) ...
