My third City 2 Surf, along with around 80,000 other people ! Fantastic weather, great crowds and scenery. A new PB for me, but still way off sub-60. Have a look at the course change at 37:30 ... #CourseFail
If you have trained well for the run, it’s not too bad, the only difficult piece is Heartbreak Hill and just be prepared to take small steps in that section. The last part down to Bondi is basically downhill. If you haven’t trained for the run, just take it easy and enjoy the sights.
Nice. The image stabilization makes it usable on the treadmill. There is no way your heart rate readout is right. You are running a fast pace but your heart should be around 120-140. They should have the ambulance standing by if it is. I find in general these wrist laser heart monitors are not as accurate as the chest strap.
Thanks for the feedback and I’m glad you enjoyed the view! It’s a great run and that was my third try at trying to get under 1hr 😏 Regarding the HR, it is measured by Chest Strap and is correct. I have a high Max Heart rate (~200), always have. Don’t believe the stuff about 220-Age, the standard deviation is huge and the research debunked (eprints.qut.edu.au/96880/). My max HR hasn’t changed since I was 20, and at nearly 60 I can still get above 190 during HIIT.
@@nickmccaffrey4168 That's impressive. I had mine measured 50 years ago when I was 20. On a VO2max test, exercise bike-4.5min to exhuastion, breathing into a Douglas bag. My heart got to 206 but really stopped working efficiently at about 195. There are probably easier ways to do it now.
@@aboversite I did the same on a rowing ergometer at VU in the 80’s, tough but fun! Wanted to do it again before NY marathon, when I was fit, but not to be 😞
My heart rate sits at similar to Nick's when I'm running up and down hills, training. Same effort level, so I'd say this is about normal. He was setting a good pace. My heart rate would be 120-140 if I'm walking briskly.
This happens every year. The first couple of hundred runners go all the way around that roundabout, then they remove the tape and anyone can turn there without going around. You only save about 10 m
