Relive all the action from the Continental Tire Road Race Showcase at Road America, the ninth race of the 2016 WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season.
Man, these two should just be the announcers for IMSA, period. Just the way they call the race pulls some serious emotion into the proceedings. Always fun to listen to :).
What a fantastic race!!! Kudos to the track crew for cleaning up the last caution crash so quickly so that they could finish the race strongly! What an exciting last few laps! Congrats Corvette on win #101!!! Phenomenal race!!
Great win by Corvette in GTLM, a bit of luck, he was fast the last 25 min, didn't really have it the rest of the day. My first track weekend at Road America and it was an outstanding visit. So many good times.
Thank you for listening and giving us the imsa Radio broadcast! I can't stand those awful commentators on FOX. Also what the heck happened to the DeltaWing. This is supposed to be one of its strongest tracks isn't it? Shame to see it so off the pace.
First off, the DeltaWing does not have as much down force as the other prototypes do, that means that it is better in a straight line but not in the corners, it was good in Daytona because it is mostly using the oval and Road America has fast parts, yes, but there are not many straight parts (other than the start/finish line) and there are many high speed corners in which the DeltaWing struggles in. Secondly, the DeltaWing has had a lot of reliability issues and breaks a lot and so it spends a lot in the pits.
Daniel Talbott Good Points. It's just I remember the ALMS race in 2013(I think) where the Deltawing was doing really well and even leading the race at certain points. I'd love to see them score a podium but with only two races left in its life, it's not looking great...
yes, yes they/we were! When the restart around turn #5(which is where I always sit) and then when they came around for the final lap and the vette passed. And when the vette came around with p1 2 guys ran down with flags, Tommy stopped under the corvette bridge and did a massive burn out! The wheelen vette did donuts with his door popped at turn 5 as well. Was a great time!
Thank you for the upload. Quality stuff indeed. Also, thanks for using the Radio Lemans announcers. I wanted to ask if you could also upload the free practice sessions. They're a lot of fun in this series.
Pretty disappointed in the entire mazda team right now. was routing for them all year to break through, but with everything from their sub-par driving standards, poor pit stops, and ridiculous pit strategies they honestly didnt even deserve this one.The car is no longer to blame, these guys really need to step it up. Its a factory effort...
one of the best sportscar races I've ever seen wht a wild last 5 mins especially in gtlm vette comes out on top thts right baby restarted 5th with 5 mins to go an wins
The last couple of laps were crazy, it's a shame the Porsche was a little overzealous, the Mazda took out the Ferrari, and the Ford went wide allowing Corvette to take the win.
Thanks for the upload! Is anyone else experiencing problems with this race streaming? For me it keeps getting hung up & I have to advance a few seconds for the stream to continue. Frustrating, but when it's it's working, I get to enjoy the race.
Advantage IMSA Radio Broadcast: - no ad break - good Stream quality Disadvantages - no special Segments like at Fox - no Pit Interviews - strange Commentators But as a Race Fan: i take both commentarys with pleasure.
You should put which series it is in the title. Like "WeatherTech SC Champ" or "Continental Tire SC Challenge". I got mixed up because it says "Continental" in the title. No big deal though because I watch both series but it gets confusing.
Great win for corvette again. The Ford driver said the car is down on power. Great win for the #31 corvette team. Their only two more races for the dp cars before they go to the new cars in 2017. I don't know how many corvette teams will be back in 2017 at daytona. Please bring back the fs1 telecast . I don't like imsa radio telecast.
For that, I recommend you showing up over in NismoTV for some more sportscars racing. We have long hours endurance with lots of informative chat too :) Also, Imsa has any information you need over their website :D It is lovely :)
Man guys, seriously! Fisichella at Lime Rock and now Vilander here, Road America, in the 62 Ferrari! At around 1:56, you'll see a little fight between a Porsche and this particular Ferrari. Again the Ferrari starts quite unfairly blocking and gets it back this time. At Lime Rock, the PC unnecessarily blocked, did not do anything against Fisichella. I would have thrown this Vilander into the green area. I think they shit very thin those Ferrari drivers in LM class!
Please start uploading the Fox Sports broadcast. I don't understand why you switched? It's a much better show even if it means we loose part of the race coverage for commercial breaks. There is virtually no pre and post race coverage, and no cameras in the pits for team/driver interviews. I'm done watching this series if you are only uploading the Radio Le Mans coverage.
+Racerdude777 Yes the Fox Sports coverage is much better in my opinion. There is more pit lane coverage and you actually get to see the people they are interviewing. Not sure why this changed for the last two races but I'm really hoping they go back to the Fox Sports programming. Why not post both versions so we don't have to argue about it?
??? The Ford had the fastest lap of the race and were in the lead for nearly half of the race. The car was slow at the end because contact on the last restart knocked a turbo pipe loose. From then on, it was a straight V8 vs V6 fight. You can see how that turned out.
