I'd say the 392 is more of a muscle car while the stang, vette, and camaro are more of the sports car variety. They're all very nice American vehicles. Im not really sure why all the hostility when comparing very different fruits. One love people.
Good comprehensive review! I upgraded to the 2021 Challenger Scat last year with the ZF 8 Speed narrow body. Coming from a 5.7 Shaker, the Scat is viscous on the street, with super cool driving modes.
+Anderson Lemus when was 375hp too low? I'm interested in the R/T because it is cheaper. I'm in Canada where I'd like to daily it all year especially in the winter. Going to 485hp is a bit too much to manage in the snow at least for me. I like both muscle and tuners, that said I like the challenger because it makes a great GT car
....my pants just got all... hot and bothered.... god I wish I had mine back...then again the 2015+ with the Laguna leather... is just awesome... Hows the shifter? did they get rid of some of that slop? I found my 2012 SRT had that issue where you'd be in here but there would be a good amount of "waggle" .
I really liked this review. It's refreshing to see a young woman behind the wheel of an SRT, or any Challenger. This genre of automobile can lean towards stereotypes of the male persuasion. Tbh though that bolstering in made for the larger person. Lol. Big thumbs up from me. :)
Says the mt82 transmission is the smoothest and more precise of the three. Even though she admitted to not driving a manual Camaro. Even though both the Camaro and Challenger have superior Tremec units. I wish car reviewers knew anything about the cars they were reviewing before completely destroying their credibility.
Good review! I've the Hellcat model with auto transmission. The front driver seat is comfortable, lower lumbar support work for me. And I find the challenger and charger are well made American muscle cars.
I don't really understand what makes Mustang's " refined ". I have seen some, they are no where as well engineered as Challengers when it comes to suspention, engine, gearbox, interior and exterior imo. I have never driven either but when The Shelby 500 Mustang was on Top Gear, they said it was propably the least well engineered and refined muscle car they've ever driven.
nice review, watched many and never heard the point about the bolster being too much for shifting. Thanks for that point. Once you became familiar with the manual, whats your thoughts with driving in heavier traffic?
Thank you. I didn't drive in much traffic in this car, but I think it was more the heavy clutch than the constant shifting that could become annoying in heavy traffic
I don't own one but have driven the manual in hvy bumper to bumper traffic . its not that bad I didn't notice the bolster effect me in any way ( perhaps its the size of the person driving kinda thing ) the clutch is hvy but something I think anybody could get used to ( think of how some truck drivers must feel ) IMHO , good review
I like my Scat Pack 392, thanks to the performance per dollar value compared to the SRT. That said, after watching thisand really looking at the interior, it might almost be worth the extra money for the SRT. It might not be any faster, but probably nicer to sit in and live with every day.
hey Toni, something I've never heard mentioned or seen in any other reviews of this car is the shift light it liked like you got between 2nd & 3rd at 2:10. can you confirm that's what I saw in the center screen of the gauge cluster?
Any manual shift performance Mopar should come with a pistol grip shift knob . Like they had in the Road Runner's and Barracuda's and other models in the late 60's .
No Thanks. You want 1960s Retro? Get the white cue ball. But the pistol grip is out of place here. This car is too GOOD for a silly shifter that really never felt right even back in the day. Looks "cool" isn't the same as "works well".
The shifter looks terrible and the steering wheel looks shit also. Can't rest yer hand on bottom of steering wheel. Super uncomfortable on the shoulders and arms in general after so long
+moparproud with sports mode on it has 585 horsepower in the scat pack I have one and I know with the 485 horsepower it is on a feul savings mode but with sport mode on it has 585
+Scottie Odle in the scat pack it has something called sport mode which gives it 585 horsepower without sport mode it has 485 horsepower which is called fuel savings mode... I have a scat pack 2016 with a 6 speed Manuel and sometimes whenever I am in fuel savings mode it goes from 1st to 4th. I'm just saying the max horsepower for the scat pack is 585 if you add up everything that uses horsepower. Also if you send the scat pack to mopar and you get a supercharger in it adds up to 680 horsepower so if you were not using sport mode with the supercharger then you would have 585 horsepower. Btw educate yourself bud.
+Bu701ter and Hellcat . I don't care if u have it in sport mode or not. The max hp for a stock scatpack is 485 hp in any mode. Obviously if u own one then u don't know anything about your own car or your just an idiot.
