Ducati's Hypermotard has been given an upgrade for 2016. Don puts on his sensible hat and tries to make a sensible film about a not-so-sensible bike.

Affirmative. I had the same impressions when I tested 3 months ago Hypermotard. I tried it and fell in love with it. The bike was meant to be ridden hard, I mean really hard and then it is the ultimate fun. Where it excels is in twisties. If I didn't have Tuono, I would definitely go for Hypermotard, but in 2 years time maybe I'll buy a second hand one to be my second/third bike.

Think of it as 2 bikes in one: 4-6k for around town, 6K + for "other times". It works just fine.

Beautiful bike man. I wished i could own one. But the tax & papers in my country here cost it about $43k for the normal & $52k for the sp version. Singapore sucks man.

you are not suposed to block the rear wheel to slide bro, the wheel is just supposed to spin slower thanks to the engine brake/little help of the rear brake

came to find out what the bike really sounds like after finding out they audio dubbed the bike scene in Yes Man, really can't see why they changed it (maybe mics were off or not picking it up?) seems like a nice bike but idk feels like its a bit flashy, would be worried about someone wrecking it out of spite while im at work.

I just bought the SP. of course it’s not a beginners bike; who could ask that question after reading about it? Very tall. Same seat height as my DRZ400 - 35 inches - but the Ducati seat is wider, so it seems taller. Also, very erratic power delivery around town. Great handling, stopping, engine. Really best for a very confident, very able rider, and not for someone under about 5’10.... I’m. 5”11, and am looking for boots with at least an inch of sole... Bruce.

I bought the Hyperstrada, much lower sea just 32 inches and the same handling plus pannies, wind shield screen, great bike , Almost two years since I got it. Last week I went for a test drive in the SP model, ohhh very tall bike, I,m 5.7 and even though I,m use to the Hyperstrada and my feeling was that the handling was the same. I was able to handle the SP but It was not confortable.

I"m a bit un-nerved by the name "motard". It sort of rhymes with another English word that could be a degrading indicator of one's intelligence. I think a better name for it would be: "The Smarty Pants" (TSP), or "The Brain Kid" (TBK). or and this goes back to the 1970s Judas Priest music "The Rocka Rolla".

I couldn't be happier with my brand-new 2016 Suzuki Bandit. After watching hundreds of video/reviews on here (and that's a conservative estimation), on the Bandit and other 2016 bikes, including Harley and Indian, I finally got a Bandit, and I continue to be overwhelmed with the Suzuki's performance, consistency, and overall good looks. I like how people advertise the new Bandits: "It's good at everything.", leaving me to believe it excels at nothing. However, you have to own one, past break-in, to really truly appreciate it. Knowing that, the people test riding/reviewing them, really have no idea, if they go to a dealership and make a video, testing the new Bandit. I love my new Bandit. It came with 0 miles, BUT I told my salesman and ONLY he was to take it for an initial test ride, to see if any codes would come up right off the bat, or any other new, bike problems. None did, and when I first got on it, it had one mile on the odo. Did I mention I couldn't be happier with my new bike? I will not give it up. I will modify nothing on it. When I finally wear it out, is when I'll start worrying about this or that. Until then, I am ONLY TOO HAPPY to lube the chain after every ride. OTHERWISE, I couldn't be happier. I thank the dealer that talked me out of the Yamaha XSR900 I'd been considering, and steered me to this bike. Only, he had a red one, on the floor, but I had to have the black one (the only two USA color options for the 2016 Bandit). Yeah, the XSR900 can pull wheelies a lot easier, but SO FREAKIN' WHAT! I've not seen either bike on the road. I've not seen an XSR900, and I've not seen another Bandit, here where I ride. I can't say enough positive things about this very comfortable, sensible bike. It's considered by Suzuki to be a "standard" bike. That's fine with me. I couldn't ask for a better handling bike, with all it's comfort, and low-to-mid range torque. (but I don't know, I've yet to take up higher than 6K or so, but it doesn't take that much to get into triple digits, anyway). NO REGRETS at all. If you don't own one, you need to find how you can get access to one that's been properly broken-in, by the book's recommendations and test drive it. Only not mine. : ) I vow NEVER to change a single part on my 2016 Bandit, for some aftermarket noisemaker, or any other doggone thing. No KN filter either. Even though I'm here on the East Coast USA, every day is a sunny day, having my Bandit. Thank you Suzuki, I got one of your products and am truly very happy with it.

I have to agree with you. Not an 'exciting' review of an awesome bike. Would've loved to hear about the balance, weight, clocks, race vs a supersport bike on a tight track, and most importantly price (shown at the end) and warranty. Will this review make me contact Ducati - No. Am I the target market for the 939 - Yes! I Love the Bike Show, but not the best episode...

+Chuck Beaubuck A Spec sheet just gives data, it would have been nice to see how that is perceived by the person reviewing the bike. Does it carry the 181kg (As the Ducati spec sheet states) well, is the balance of the 181kg too far forward where the rider said he sat. Is the clocks perhaps too small and un-readable. And as mentioned a small sprint against a supersport bike would have been nice as this will happen during a track day/ breakfast run. Just some constructive criticism. Most of the other reviews are great.
