I change the spark plugs on my 2016 Ford F-150 with the 2.7l Ecoboost engine. I replaced the spark plugs with some NGK Iridium LTR6IX plugs. Overall, it went pretty smooth other than finding an oil leak.

If you do use anti-seize don’t torque quite as much as you would without using anti-seize.

Good video! The only thing i would have done differently is replace all the coil packs. I tried the ngk plugs and my gas mileage went down by 2 mpg less. Went back to the original ford ones and my gas mileage came back. This is on a 2015 2.7 ecoboost F-150.

Good to know! It's hard for me to tell with the gas mileage since it's cold out.

Having a very hard time with cylinder 3. Any suggestions without removing that hose (it's either heater or coolant overflow not sure).

I was able to just pull the hose back far enough to get the wire disconnect and plug out.

Did it increaee mpgs? Mine 2.7 probably due for some. Got 200k on the ole girl but she still drives like new, has slight weird idle at times so maybe spark plugs first, idk how long the ignition coils hold up in these. No codes on truck either

It's hard to tell bc the weather is nice one day, then cold the next in Nebraska right now. From what I've read, plugs only last around 60k miles with these motors. So I changed them.

Why? It’s like a bic lighter it’s disposable just get rid of it and get something else ! VCT solenoid well there’s another bad idea let’s over complicate the internal combustion engine

Did you check the torque on that solenoid? Was it loose?

It wasn't loose. I haven't checked to see if it's still leaking or not yet.

How tough is the rear passenger side plug?

It was a little difficult, not terrible though. The rubber boots are pretty flexible, so you can bend the boot over taking it out/putting it in.

The difficult part is trying not to pull out the brass threaded inserts that are set into the plastic valve cover to screw in the ignition coil stud bolts.
