Nice vid Vol, as an owner of the '16 RK, I agree the bike is a beast. I've modified mine fairly substantially, one thing is I put a "tall boy" seat on mine so I'm positioned nearly three inches further back now and it made a big difference for me. I'm all arms and legs and that turned out to be the fix for that!. God bless you and above all rsmf. Freedom Rider out.
Well mate, I gotta thank you for taking my vid with the good grace that it was intended. My sub count has dropped quite a bit since I published this. Lol ! It is definitely a lovely bike, could do with some louder pipes and in my case I would need the short arse seat. Ha ha ha ! Thanks for watching and blessings right back at you friend.
Go ahead and stroke the check and get you a Harley! Just kidding it seems you like your bike like I like my Harley Fat Bob. Thanks for taking us along for the test ride. Best to you.
The FJR is certainly not new Dave. That's way above my present budget. Lol ! But one day I would like to own a brand new bike. And one day I can see myself on a Harley too.
Nice test ride. I’ve test ridden a few of them. Very nice machines, have lots of character. I have noticed the same odd foot shift angle too.. it’s the shifter being a little high I think. Takes a bit to get used to.
Great video brother :-) The Road King has always been my favorite Harley, and yet I've never ridden one lol. I'd still go for an Indian Springfield though :-) But all that will be after buying my all time favorite... Victory Cross Country!
Yeah I was quite impressed with that. I could go wherever I wanted and have it for an hour or so. And he invited me to come back with my better half and go again !
You nearly had me there, thinking you'd finally succumbed to the dark side :) Oh and if you're going to take one for a test ride, you're supposed to ask first mate lol
Really ? But it was just sitting there and didn't need a key or anything. And nobody was yelling at me as I rode away. One day I may be mature enough for a Harley. Lol !
It is nice to be able to demo ride a variety of motorcycles. l have demo rode a Road King twice, and each time found the throttle to be very sensitive. Did you find the same thing? rsmf.
Wow you sure did seem to have fun, its cool that you could test ride it. Won't happen here even tho I live just 50 min from the HD head quarters. At least around here we can't test ride them.
Problem is they sell like crazy in fact around here you find little else so its not hurting them at all. I have seen where they have "shows" where they have a few bikes and allow them to be ridden but not around here just in other states. They will be more than happy to let you sign up for riding lessons where you ride one of their bikes. HD has such a following here in the states that they sell themselves really.
A truly iconic brand for sure. Still, it's a strange concept to me, to buy a vehicle without riding (or driving) it first. But like you say, if they sell themselves.......
Yea, between Milwaukee and Chicago anyway you will only be allowed to test ride a new bike once all the paperwork is filled out for the loan and sale then you can test ride it. This is for all makes of bikes.. Honda, Yamaha etc.. not just HD the only exception is there seems to be a couple of Triumph dealers that will let you test ride but only on the days they offer it I think its every other Saturday.
Hey, nice video again. +Bloke on a Bike has a road king. Have you had a look at a Boulevard M109R? Hey, if you haven't grown up by 50... you don't have to. I have a year and a bit to go, but its looking promising...
Love your motorsickle, man! For a moment I though you were trading in the Guzzi for that bad boy. Too bad you're not old enough to ride a "real" bike.... ;-)
Me too,Volgnit. Recently I was introduced to an H.O.G member. Upon hearing that I ride Hondas and that I was in line to purchase another Honda he said, "You still have a dream!". I'll leave you with those words of H.O.G wisdom. LOL
I was too polite so I bit my tongue and just smiled. Plus the guy was 6' 4", 250lbs. But I did want to say, yes I have a dream of owning a Norton Commando 850 Mk3...LOL
I love Road Kings but the strain they put on my injured back plus the dead weight rules them out plus they are car money which in the UK is a waste bearing in mind how crap our climate is we are lucky to ride 7 months of the year at best .
Thats a lousy way to look at it, Harley sucks at innovation, every year same thing over and over and over. Harley is now finally starting to change things up, but not by choice, they are being forced to because Indian is putting a dent in their sales. Ive always loved the Road King, but after seeing the 2016 Indian Springfield and comparing the 2, i got the Springfield and i am hearing stories like that all over.
Snake Bite lol. Indian has not put a dent of any kind in Harley's sales. Please post a link. I like Indian as well but I chose the Road King because it felt like a better bike. Simple. Indian dealerships are few and far between and service is questionable. I just hope Polaris doesn't fold up the Indian line like it did victory.
I agree there are far fewer dealerships, but now that Polaris has consolidated Victory and Indian, you will start to see a whole new product line rebranded under Indian. Right now there are 10 models under 2 product lines, but i guarantee you that once the remaining 2016/17 Victory models have been liquidated, they will rebrand 6-8 models under a ew product line of Indian, bringing Indian to 3 product lines and 18 bikes. Once this transformation takes place, probably 12-18 months you will start to see more Indian dealerships. As for Victory being closed, this was inevitable, Polaris was after Indian since 1998, when Gilroy refused to partner, Polaris said screw it, we will create our own brand. Polaris wants to be in the motorcycle market, Indian was selling 15:1 over Victory so it was the logical choice to close Victory and consolidate brands. Polaris has now got what they have wanted for the last 20 years, the have done an excellent job with Indian thus far and by consolidating and adding more models and product lines, Indian will be taking a bigger bite out of Harley. I dont hate Harley, I have 8 bikes, 2 being Harley's 73 Harley FLH (mind) 2008 Harley Rocker C Here is your link showing Indian has taken a bite out of Harley sales, it will only get worse unless Harley starts innovating again instead of pumping out the same thing year and year. archive.jsonline.com/blogs/business/254537411.html
