I used this as a rental car, it's great and drives very smoothly, has a lot of room inside surprisingly, big trunk, very comfortable, and the visibility all around is great those huge side mirrors are awesome
I just got a 2017 Accent this weekend and loving everything about the car. The fuel economy I have yet to judge on since it was just obtained but it rides tons better than my Smart ever did.
As soon as i got my 2016 accent, I drove due north from Ft Worth to Oklahoma City, turned around and refilled at the same fuel pump, I did the math, I got 40.6 miles per gallon. The best mileage I have gotten with a reasonably priced car that isn't a hybrid. It was pretty flat between Ft Worth and Oklahoma City, but I did get some steady uphill about 70 miles from Oklahoma City. Still it was very flat and a good leg to check mileage on. My speed was on cruise control and except for infrequent traffic needful slow downs, I stayed right at 68 to 69 miles per hour. I think that is the sweet spot for driving a Hyundai for cruise maximum benefit. It is different on all cars but runs somewhere between 65 and 71 miles per hour. Dependent on streamlining, efficiency of the engine and the use of cruise constantly to mitigate the effects of changing the Engine RPM. Something else I did was change the oil from factory provided engine oil to synthetic right at 1,000 miles. then I changed it again at 3,500 miles, now I have it broken in and I change oil every 7 thousand miles or 6 months whichever comes first.
I just got a 2017 accent and everything if fine but I got the bigger 16 inch alloy wheels and man the ride is really rough, the thinner wheels make you feel everything, if I just run a over a pebble I freak out feeling like I hit a boulder.
I bought a 2017 Accent Sport Hatchback 2 months ago. $13,500. Sticker was $19,400. Cash Deal. I agree with everything except the Fuel Economy like Paolo de Pablo below. ALL this author is saying is what the EPA Hwy/City MPG numbers reveal. Real World combined is MUCH less for me so far after 3 tanks of 87 Unleaded here in America. 80/20 City Hwy for me shows about 25mpg. Steady Highway with Cruise Control on and a reset of the Trip Computer shows 33mpg. I completely agree with most, not all, other Owners that this car never delivers the published MPG. Pure City is about 22-23.5mpg. Otherwise a GREAT car...Comfortable, Stylish, Safe, Spacious Interior, Quiet Road Manners, Incredible Disc Brakes, Decent Audio, Bluetooth, Awesome Warranty. Hopefully the Fuel Economy will improve with more miles but I am not optimistic. I do run 36psi in my 16" Alloy 195/50R Solus Radials. Hyundai recommends 33psi. Just Saying... JP
I have a Korean version Hyundai Accent Crdi Diesel(also available in gasoline)with a crystal white exterior with a black cloth interior and a 7 speed dual clutch automatic manual transmission that I lovingly named snow full name snow winter white but I am planning on reapustering interior in bright yellow and light yellow alcantara and leather interior with white stitching and I also planned on installing an aftermarket Sony audio system in my car’s trunk and have the keys fixed and color matched to my car’s exterior color of crystal white and then have the car fitted with an alarm system and a roof rack with a color matched cargo box on top of the color matched roof rack on the color matched roof rails
In 2012 I wanted either a new Accent or Nissan Versa. I opted for the Versa. HUGE mistake. POS. Kicking myself ever since for not getting the Accent. I'd probably still have the Accent. I traded in the Versa after only 2yrs.
Jennifer Kelly My finances were very tight, especially since I hadn't planned on trading in a 2yr old car. Mitsubishi was offering the new Mirage with steep discounts, so I opted for that. After more than 2yrs and 44k miles of ownership its proving to be a MUCH better quality car. Almost paid off. No regrets. I'm keeping it. Just curious, but why do you hate your Versa so much? Wondering if its similar reasons to mine.
palebeachbum I literally just got it on Feb 1. I love everything about it ....except the cvt. I knew nothing or researched nothing before going ahead and buying this car..about transmissions :/. I want a car with an auto transmission. I plan on keeping this car this whole year and paying off as much as I can toward principle so I can trade it in for something else...:/
