The outside bearing race needs to lock up in the axle housing. The rotation is to fully occur in the roller bearings, not by the inside race or outside race.
Using a small amount of gear lube on the bearing race and retainer will certainly aid in pressing them on. Aren't you concerned that the lube will allow the race to spin on the axle since you lived it up? I recommend pressing them clean and dry. If you think you need lube, use Loctite Red.
I have a question I was trying to change my wheel sensor for my right rear wheels and I ended up breaking the 8mm bolt. I may need to replace the part that's houses the screw bad. What do you call it? I looked up wheel bearing hub but I keep seeing only the front...please help 🙏
