2016 Jeep Wrangler Willys Review

My new Jeep with 323 miles on it. It is a Willys Wheeler Edition which includes the mud tires, black wheels, upgraded suspension, rock rails, 3.73 gears, trac-loc rear differential, and it also has a tow package. Here's my likes and dislikes so far! Thanks for watching!

+Douglas Laramie Thanks, I like the look too. That's the biggest reason I went with the Willys Wheeler. I think I said it was gunmetal gray in the video, when in fact it's Billet Silver metallic. Hard to tell in the shade though.

Good vid / great jeep. I picked up my new Willys Wheeler in November.....got about 5k miles on it now, (2 door, tank green, soft top) - absolutely love it! It's beast in the snow up here in the Northeast, daily driver.....I take it off road frequently and couldn't be happier with it's performance. I'm also adding winch / bumper shortly. If I had one bitch about it, it would be the lack of radiator protection on the grill from the factory. When you get into mud, leaves, debris, it takes some extra effort to clean out or you could plug up the radiator fins, and worse, seems like adding grill guards would help protect against road-rocks, branches while off road, etc. Not difficult to add grill guards, just FYI for anyone so they don't have to find out the hard way. Doors off / top down!!!! Enjoy - have lots of fun with your new Jeep.

+Oobles Goobles Thanks! I was hoping to find one in Tank Green. Haven't taken it off-road yet, not that I haven't wanted to, just didn't want to have to clean it ;) I can't wait until summer to take the doors & top off!

+Farmboy's Garage - yep, had the same feeling when buying it. But then had the wife drop me off at the dealership the following morning to pick it up, and told her I'd be home in a few hours. Right from the lot to the trails to get it muddy ;) That's what their made for / why I got one! (Couldn't wait for summer to drop the top / pull the doors off - any day that's > 60 degrees has me in the breeze) 😎

That's a curve ball I wasn't expecting. You can't go wrong with any BFG tire. I almost traded my s10 for an older jeep but was afraid of getting a rust bucket.

Nice video! I picked up a mojave sand 2dr soft top WW recently, and I'm loving it. Putting locking lug nuts on the tires and spare is a good idea, and I'm also looking at adding a hood lock and a locking gas cap. My only dislike is that I get an occasional check engine light that comes and goes at random times, with a code showing "random misfire."

Thanks, I understand that Chrysler offers a factory hood lock that uses the ignition key. Wish I'd known that before installing an aftermarket lock. Sounds like you may have a loose or bad connection to the plug or coil. Hope you find out what it is! I like the 2-dr Willys too!

+Farmboy's Garage It's a wrangler sport unlimited that has a lot of options. The only thing she really wanted added is navigation/rear camera until today she saw one that was lifted.

LOL, yeah they definitely need a rear camera. I've got a camera system that I thought about mounting on mine but it goes to the license plate bracket so that isn't going to help much on the right hand side. We test drove one that the dealer had installed a lift on and my wife loved it. I had to remind her that she'd be dragging her legs over the rocker getting in and out ;)

Thank you for replying Mr. I'm just saying if it leaks don't waste your time taking to the dealer because there's nothing they cant fix, they just going to charge the warranty for a couple of days and a new rubber door seal and still leak, it happen to mine jk 2015.you can fix it yourself, go to Home Depot, get double rubber weather seal, & apply it to the inter door frame, from top to above the door jamb on the cab, EPDM rubber seal, it works..Mr.

I've heard that Mopar makes a factory hood lock that works with your ignition key, but I don't know how much they are.

+STEVE ROB Thanks Steve. Just up and down the road, power seems to be fine (probably due to the 3.73 gears). I do think the 6 speed auto likes to hunt for the right gear sometimes though.

Something I forgot my mail carrier has one there are about 5 of them carrying mail here all just alike must have had a special on them, must hold up pretty well that is hard on a vehicle what they do.

+Saddlebag Preacher Thanks! Not too many Willys available in my area. I saw 1 2-door and this one on autotrader. There was less than $2K difference so I figured the 4-door would hold its value better. I like the 2-doors too.

I'm sure it can be done, but it'd be expensive. Don't know of any aftermarket kits.

Hi. What about leaking inside vehicle after it rains. I heard that this happens with all Jeeps Wranglers even newer models. Someone I know has a 2015. Pls let me know if you had this problem. Thanks.

I haven't had this issue yet but from what I've seen is that it happens more often if the top isn't fastened down correctly. I suppose the seals would eventually need replacing over time.

+therealtechcheck i have had my 2015 Willys wheeler W for a year and a half now and have had it in ALOT of rain hard and light and have had NO leaking issues. The ONLY thing considering leaking is the rear window seal on the hard top, if you don't keep it clean, dirt and dust build up on it, it has a potential to leak a little bit from the top. I usually just wipe it off with my hand real quick anytime that I have it open for groceries or whatever.

I haven't had a problem with that. I have a 2016 Sahara w/ hard top. Just had a soft top installed today. will get back to you on that after it rains.

Farmboy's Garage well I learned that it's not a willys they told me it was but it's just a sport with the black Wheel option but it has the water proof trunk speaker and the tow hitch so I'm good with that

The Sport has a softer suspension so it'll probably ride better down the road too. Mine will beat you to death after a few hours ;)

Farmboy's Garage oh I know about the resale. I've never seen another vehicle be able to hold it like that. Which is why I'd rather buy new, you won't get much of a discount used anyways
