It is because the olympics is limited to 2 players per country per gender in table tennis. Xu Xin didn't do well enough in the qualifiers. Ma Long and Zhang Jike, I think, were the singles. Xu was in the team games though.

it doesn't matter anymore. Chineese are dominating the wgole thing, that's it. Unless the rest of the world awakes, it's gonna get more and more predictible and therefore boring.

I can understand the disbelief. I few months earlier Ma Long was anihilating Xu Xin in most of their games. The only time I've ever seen Xu Xin forced to use backhand block.

wonderful match, for me both are winners. Xu Xin carried winners attitude throughout the match and it eventually helped him at the end
