I hate when people do reviews of cars and criticize them for NOT being what they were NEVER intended to be. It is like criticizing a vette for not have room for four. The ES was not designed by Lex for sportiness, steering feel or great handling. It was designed for exactly what it is, smooth, quiet, safe and comfortable. Period.

James May from Top Gear complains about Clowns like this when he complains that cars suck nowadays because every car has to be good at the Nurburgring ! Most people just drive their cars in the city & on the highway ! Nobody takes a Luxury car like this to the track ! So who needs all that performance crap ! Most of those performance cars Ride Terribly !

This is the worst review I've come across in a long time. The ES line has a long history of being a fine automobile that takes mid level Toyota trim to luxury standards. Yes, it WAS based on the Camry, but now the Avalon, but that's what makes it affordable for the masses. Nothing in this review captures what this car is about, or compares it against its competition, or even just the Avalon itself.

It's not a Camry shell... It's based on the Toyota Avalon chassis; the ES350 for this year with the steering assist, lane departure, and much more refinement paired with extreme reliability is a sound choice (Audi A6 and BMW) as you mentioned or compared it to, have an entirely different cost of ownership, and are plagued with all types of long term reliability issues. So yes, not a sports car and not engaging to drive, but a vehicle that makes a statement everywhere you drive it. This model Lexus, although not the GS model or LS model, still projects luxury and it is respected when you pull up somewhere.

Just bought this car a week ago. Already in love with it. Such a pleasure to drive - really smooth and comfy. And yes, I am 50. Always had acuras, tired of them, they are getting smaller and smaller. Lexus gives your passengers dignity back with so much room in the back. The look is stately and presidential. Lexus has a winner!!!

Hey GURU!!!Very embarrassing for a car reviewer to not know on what chassis this care is based on. Anyway is it an awesome sedan I enjoy from the bottom of my heart.I spent time driving Mercedes C300, BMW 325xi, and Acura TLX and none of them got closer to ES 350 (not ride comfort, not features,not torque, not finishes) . I got the top of the line and I commute with it. It is a whole new world!!

More importantly what he did not mention is that this is probably one of the most reliable cars that can easily make it to 300k miles with proper maintenance. That is many years without a car payment

Lexus also has the best maintenance record of any other car in it's class. Yeah, it may not be really sporty, but it is nice inside and it is reliable as hell. Excellent value for the money.

If you're looking for handling/road feel/ego gratification (not to mention endless electrical problems, dealer drama, premium fuel) go get yourself an Audi/BMW/Benz. If you want a seamless, superb automotive experience, go to a Lexus dealer. I've owned every luxury make out there; these cars and the dealers that sell them are so far beyond any other brand, it's laughable.

pointless review. What is the purpose of this review? To say that Lexus should have made a self drive car or to brag that it doesn't feel like a BMW? Reading white lines more specifically if the white lines on the road are faded or missing altogether then the car can’t do it job. That’s a far cry from driving itself buddy.. you’re the car guy.

Our reviewer used "actually" many times to describe one thing. How did he get this job? Does he need a Thesaurus? But I digress, it seems to me, that any and all conversations. reviews or general chit-chat is inundated with "actually" and "basically". With the additional "you know..." and "like", no wonder the educational system fails.

I think you understand how Lexus operate. Self driving technology is not fully developed yet even though some companies uses it. It is a reason why a Lexus will dann near last through three generations. They don't put out half ass cars.

It's a cool car. If you can see what it's got going for it. It's cool cause it's not trying hard to get your attention like a civic type r would. It's comfortable in it's own way and that makes it very cool. Infact chilled😅

Hell, even google's self-driving cars are years away from being anything able to reliably drive on a public road on it's own.

One thing I can't stand is people who NEVER considered purchasing the ES would come here and bash the car. WHY? Is it because you're the guy reviewing the ES? One thing going for the E350 is it's classy interior, specifically the dashboard, it's competition has some of the most frenzied, horrendous dashboards, especially the ones with a slapped on tablet, blah!

The ES and the GS both look like the LS for 7 years now which means they all look Great... Another great thing is this video is only 5 minutes. I skip through turning it into a minute-and-a-half though and most of that is writing this so I can listen to myself talk instead of watching the video... Is it over yet? Nope. just turn the volume back up and he said "why doesn't this car drive itself"... I'm going to to have to go now... Turns out 5 minutes cut down to a minute and a half was not short enough...eeeee

And I love it that he is honest about the fact this is a gussied up Camry (my words). So tired of hearing LINCOLN is a gussied up Ford or Cadillac XTS is an Impala. But no one calls out the imports for the same thing. Nothing wrong with being a gussied up Camry, but let's be fair.

no wonder your channel is failing.. you cant get your facts right.. the ES shares the same platform as the Avalon.. not the Camry.. and other than the shared engine, which even German brands practice, at least Lexus doesnt share any of its interior parts and finishes with Toyota.. Audi and VW however is a different story...

Honestly great review. have no idea about everyone elses comments. The point of the review was the es350 is the pasts Buick LaCrosse. Its for people who dont drive. Its an appliance that is more money than the other appliance, the Camry which it is based off of. And im sorry but anyone who can ollie on the skateboard while maintaining the wigs poistion on head is quite a feat. Great job my friend.

First of all awful review. Second of all if you insist blaming ES for carrying Camry DNA (even though its closer to Avalon) , know that even if it would be based on Corolla - its still better than 90% of the junk people buy. Its like the most common pitch every salesman has against Lexus... Pathetic
