@charles wagner if you thought this was intense then watch these final laps from the 2007 Daytona 500 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yzWQ0C-gEcw.html&ab_channel=maxpayne
I just learned more about racing watching this video in 9min. 41sec. than a lifetime of commentators could tell me. I always thought it looked pretty simple, but there is quite a bit of strategy going on. Thank you very much for posting this video, it was extremely enlightening.
One other thing; I would like to see my know-it-all wife try this while she is on her phone! As soon as she turns the key, she gets on the phone. After years of warning her about this danger (which falls on deaf ears) I gave up. We have had to take both vehicles on a few long trips and I told her to not call me, "this is not a race". Invariably I show up first every time because I am doing 78mph all day. She goes 90mph, makes a phone call and slows down to 55mph, hangs up and gets back up to 95mph. "Yes folks, she is the person that screws-up traffic for the rest of us and acts like it is everyone else's fault for being in her way". I won't even ride with her to the grocery store anymore. God only knows how many puppies she has run over while fiddling around with her in-dash touch screen.
6:30 It's amazing how little impact bump drafting seems to have while you're watching it from a aways, but how uncontrollable the car seems to get when you see the impact through a camera that's in/on the car, by getting incredibly shaky. That must feel funny in the bottom of the chair.
Avenged Fate yeah just probably because nascar have changed the cars balance in 2012 so bumpdrafting is harder, thats why they have stopped bump drafting in the corners
Avenged Fate how bout that shove to the front Hamlin made between the 78 and 20 there near the end. At that speed touching quarter panels I thought that was a wreck, the way the 20 shot up towards the wall.
For some reason this is the first nascar video that helps me feel the insane speed these cars are going at. Any other POV makes them seem somewhat slower.
At 9:00 look at those two cars jockeying for position trying to gain every inch to checkered. Banging tires, banging fenders, banging doors. That's the way racing ought to be! It doesnt get any better than that!!
I don't think so. Hamlin (on the outside) is slower than MTJ at first. Then he touches MTJ's car, the grip between their cars brings them to an equal speed. Hamlin then stays as close to MTJ's car as possible because there's air drag in the corner that he can use like a slingshot to get past MTJ. Great driving and a razor close finish.
Wow, these cars go way faster than I thought, it’s so much more intense seeing them go multiple laps with that camera view, and you know if it looks fast on camera then it must be even more behind the wheel.
This track is amazingly fun on NASCAR heat 5. Even gaming i get intense, one wrong move with those speeds and it's over. I can't imagine how tense it really is in real life... WOW... 😲
This shows you why guys like Denny are good at dega and Daytona it’s not just about luck and having a fast car you have to know how to draft and when to take risks. For example Kyle Busch and truex both had plenty of time to jump up in the high lane and make a move once Denny moved up to gain momentum but they chose to just sit there and stay in line instead of taking a risk truex probably would have won if he moved up to block Denny
i would love to see nissan become part of nascar......against ford, chevy, and toyota! nascar nissan: altima or maxima. truck series: the titan pick up!!!!!!!
Seen a Ferrari fly pass me at 3am like I was parked one time on the DC loop back when I drove a 18 wheeler. If I didn't see it for myself I'd of never believed it.
@@evildavidragan9292 didnt get help, but wouldent write stuff like that anymore either. concidering trump got more than 2 digits, yall not that gifted seeing ads and lies
I don't get NASCAR, nothing happens, no over takes, no corners just full throttle 24/7? I love racing of all kinds but this just doesn't make sense to me
This is my first time watching anything nascar and this has got to be the single most boring type of racing their is. I mean even just their pit stops are more exciting than the actual race
I may be late by 1 year but I wanna say something to you. The more you know about nascar, the more intersecting it is. The less you know, the more it becomes boring. When I first watched nascar, I found it boring as well, but I learnt as more and more races went on that I started to understand you rules and I wanted to learn even more so I looked in the Internet to learn more about the rules. And now I like nascar. By the way, I first watched nascar in 2009
@@Xxspaceman85xX i mean if you think carrying that title bothers me your obviously a bit of a loon. Thanks for tyrone angle for commenting so i could see your comment and bask in the glory of it.
@@happy.1626 maybe its fun for the actual drivers but to watch, boring as f***. Oh just fyi maybe learn how to articulate a sentence if you don't want to perpetuate the stereotype that nascar fans are dumb.
