Relive all the action from the Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix powered by Mazda (P/GTLM), the fourth race of the 2016 WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season.
I really like that metallic/chrome orange paint on the 60 car. Reminds me of a Hot Wheels or Sizzlers color from the old days. Anyway congrats to Michael Shank Racing. Cool first win for the Ford GT too. I wonder if their fuel tank is going to get BOP'd though.
+TheBigMillerTime 1:34:49 #912 P6 1:40:59 #912 P5 1:41:35 #912 P4 1:44:06 #912 P3 The last two laps must have been a hell of a ride. I really would like to see the onboard.
+ThePTChem I don't think you were paying close attention. The 912 got p4 and p3 because the 66 and 3 had to pit. They could've shown the pass on the 62 for p5 but they missed it along with a couple other fights in those last min. They were too concentrated on the 90 and 31 battle I guess .
I watch all these races on youtube through the IMSA Offical provider, but how come Fox Sports, these announcers, Brian Till and Justin Bell don't do it anymore? Did IMSA drop Fox sports? Watch all of the 2017 races and its the two English UK guys with the girl in the pits announcing. Its not a problem, but just curious. I really enjoyed these announcers more and Justin's commentary was great.
+Shawn Mims Yeah it was really annoying when I was watching this on TV - nothing but commentators blathering incessantly without a break. Couldn't hear the engines even if I was really trying.
+Shawn Mims For some reason the broadcast here always has half the volume on the engine sounds/environment and double the volume on the commentators. Broadcast director needs to have a word with the engineer.... The qualifying here on RU-vid sounded absolutely awesome, with the commentators just barely getting a word in over the engine sounds.
Blame the new tires.. Quite tough for BMW, they developed a new platform for GTLM then now they have to develop new setup for this stupid tires. Good luck on next race! Go ///M Power! Good job Ferrari! The 488 is smoking fast here and it's rear mid engine running in such hot condition. Actually, I think rear mount engine allows cleaner air since there're lots of dust flying around. I believe the turbo torque helps a lot on Laguna Seca especially on hillclimb.
+Brad Gray The track is super tight as it is, having that many cars on it at once would just put people in danger of constant crashes and contact incidents.
Man if someone would smash me in the wall, like the Porsche did in the opening footage with the Corvette, he would have to beg I'm unable to move for a long time! That one would eat soup for some months through the straw! Really, sometimes you ask yourself:"And they are the pros? Oh what am I then not wrecking like that all the time?"
Awesome upload of awful coverage! Engine sounds way to low, no "Sounds of Speed", bad directing especially showing an interview with Taylor, while the prototypes changes positions multiple times.
