Such a frustrating game for Dima he was there not there again there not there. This is one of the most beautiful matches played by ma long just no errors from his side. Tactical brilliance. Dima played well but ma just got him.
If Ovtcharov had kept his pushes short and tight to the net instead of pushing them long and setting Ma up time and time again for his un-returnable forehand topspin/forehand smash to he would have won this match
Amazing match from both players in their own style: Dima has a very great control and power from his backhand, but he he left too much opportunities to ML to let his perfect topspin power express, then he losed too much points. Very nice to watch.
Lol.... Watch this game again closely. Ma long outclassed dimitrij in backhand play even though dimitrij is considered to have the best backhand. His backhand is not weak ma long just prefers to attack with his forehand more
Of course Ma Long's backhand is really good and not weak at all, but his forehand is too good. Nobody can resist the temptation of winning scores with the forehand.
In this match (and in general), Dima mainly uses three kinds of serves. Forehand pendulum, tomahawk and backhand pendulum. Out of these, backhand pendulum is his signature serve.
