actually IMHO, the truck is ugly! Also it's too quiet. If you know what flowmasters sound(ed) like back in the day and early 90's. This thing is completely quiet. It should be rattlling the fucking ground and what I'm looking for. - fyi

In the early 90s, the Chevy pick-ups only had a single catalytic converter that was easy to remove and no oxygen sensors to worry about. These new Silverado's have three catalytic converters and that's why they're so much quieter.

Kyle K idk what your talking about cause early 90s have an o2 sensor

Early 90's trucks didn't have a post-cat oxygen sensor, so if you removed the cat you wouldn't get a check engine light. Post cat sensors were mandated when OBDII debuted in 1996. Anything up to 96 doesn't have the rear sensor just a pre-cat sensor.

Only thing i have against ford is the suspension and the spark plug issues on triton motors...thats all i got. Chevy dodge ford toyota nissan all have there problems...its bout how it was maintained not brand...rely on the hands not the brands

Christian Gutierrez it’s not bad when it goes into v4.. i recently took this 44 off and went with a 50... these mufflers get louder over time but all sound about the same inside the cab.. when cruising you can’t really hear it

horseluvrva i like the traditional z71 sticker on the back. there's no way i would put a chrome z71 badge on the side like the sierra has.. this is a chevrolet & plus that's not the way it came. i had a 14 sierra all terrain that i traded for this truck. i bought the all terrain slt bc it was all black except for the door handles & mirrors which were chrome. there were no stickers or tacky z71 badges anywhere on it.

mad dog 2020 maybe a 50 series flowmaster which is a three chamber. you will have a little drone no matter what with flowmaster but it's not bad.. i have two kids..bedcover is a undercover flex series.. $850

Cool thanks for the advice I was leaning towards magnaflow or borla but had not ruled out flowmaster just was not to sure what I really wanted to do and how much I wanted to spend . thanks again

kenny Tee I was a dodge guy as well. rolled with my 98 ram 5.2l for a few years. actually not very biased on trucks too much but if you were in the market for one I would definitely look at a 2011 and up f150. only driven a few Chevy's but I do own a 2013 f150 with the ecoboost twin turbo v6 and with their redesign of that specific engine for the 2017s I think they are going to be a hard truck and engine to beat for years to come. don't get me wrong people who drive v8s love the way they drive and sound but I think that times are changing and ford is ahead of the curve a bit. gotta say that's a nice clean truck though. like pretty much everything but the rims. just an opinion but I think 18s are the perfect size for most pickup trucks today. less rim more tire!

kenny Tee just looked at Chevy's website and the 5.3s are rated for 355 at 5600rpm. IDK about you but that's quite a high rpm. probably redlining too. not bragging but my ecoboost is rated for 365 at like 2000rpm. I know it's not all about gas mileage but if you have to redline to get that power the 5.3 doesn't seem that great

Space Cowboy that's not high those motors actually redline 72-7600 rpms. the power was designed for mid to top end

Jason Oelfke Hey Jason, based on these two videos I though the super 40 would suit my need but I was in for a surprise. I have listen too every Flowmaster vedio on YTube trying too decide. Oh it has that low rumble at idol and strong sound on acceleration very nice. BUT after each change through the six speed trans. It drones. It gets better above forty mph. At 55 or 60 nice sound holding steady speed. If you accelerate some drone. It’s hard too tell exactly the sound is on UTune even while they take a ride for sound. May be the forty series might be less drone. I know this is not much too go on but hope it helps. You might give Flowmaster a call talk too one of the techs on what they suggest. Best of luck. Well this is a 2016 with 8 speed trans Totally different body style with different molding in the body.. therefore on the 2014 up there is less drone.. I used to have a 2011 Silverado... this 2016 is much quieter than the 11

adamshirl10 Adam, it’s amazing the sound difference of the 2016. Compared to my 2013 mentioned my last post. Your 16 almost sounds like my factory muffler prior to my change to the super 40 both are 5.3 v8. I probably should have chosen a 40 series hoping for less drone. I did spray it with two coats of gray VHT paint. Looks nice and protect from outside rust. I live at the beach.

dennis whorley lol there no way this would sound like your factory... I do this for a living everyday my friend.. this is RU-vid so you can’t tell all the way how it sounds.... I’ve had 2002 2004 2006 2008 2011 2014 2016 silverados... i don’t even have this system anymore... I have a 50 series flowmaster now bc it’s much quieter.. I have children and don’t wanna wake them up when I start it is why I made it quieter..
