2016 Skoda Superb : Review : PowerDrift

Skoda Superb was, is and will always be my favorite car. "Never has there been a name more befitting to a car than the Skoda Superb". Golden words.

Skoda always nail it with their cars but never manage to do so in their after sales service, the main reason people drop their idea of buying a Skoda :/

Superb review for a superb car!

It lets you do this.....this, this, this, this! :D Somehow I'm not entirely convinced of the updated styling but I'm glad that it still manages to outclass not only its rivals but also quite a few cars well above its segment.

Above everything else the problem is the utter shitiness of Skoda service

Camera man has done a great job. This car dont look more luxurious n elegant in Day light than the low light or in Artificial light. As the video is mostly shot in low light outdoor conditions this car looks amazing. Can u compare this with other in same segment

I don't wanna be the guy who makes a beef outta Sedan vs SUV's,,,but as I am from Ooty,,,its nice to have a 4 wheel drive vehicle in most of the places here,,,but still I've seen many SUV's fell from the edge of the mountain roads and went too down,,,when I say down it went really deep down,,,like no one survived down,,,I love the tall view from the SUVs,,,but I've traveled in some of the cheapest sedans and the comfort is just soo good,,,then I can only imagine how much good these Skoda's will be,,,plus the body roll scares me living in the mountains,,,and I like the elegance of the car,,,sedans especially,,,I like SUVs definitely,,,but as we grow I feel like sedans are something good to consider,,,like the stress just keeps building up,,,it would be nice to just feel the cruise with a nice comfy quick elegant looking Sedan,,,just my thoughts,,wow stunning car and a video,,, nice,,,Keep up the good work,,,once again likes from The Mountains Ooty

Excellent review, good & detailed. The video anchor (sardar guy) is very talented & does his job very nice, congratz. I liked the way features are shown in detail ( ambient lighting, virtual paddle, canton speakers, ride quality etc.) Last but not the least a big thumbs up to the person who is behind video making / capturing. Very smooth, excellent shine / shadows on car ( I am sure lot of team work), slow motions are top class. Time lapse (cloud) portion of video, awesome!. Great review. Keep doing these kind of detailed review. Yours is the best quality review I have come across. Only one small feedback, spikes in volume of background music has a higher pitch as compared to vocals.

Read this for a real review of the superb since i'm not under any pressure to review the vehicle according to skoda. This new facelift has perhaps a handful of features that have been introduced compared to the old one, which are not inclusive of the headlamps he spoke about. Just the wheelbase, interior lift, exterior lift and some infotainment system changes that's all. The reason the tires squeal is because the suspension is always on baniya mode. Fuel economy is 6KMPL at it's best in the city, diesel gives more than that but buying a diesel in my opinion is as bad as some consider eating beef is. Full electronic power steering, seems to be fine for a car of this size but the wheel is almost dead, no feedback. Brilliant build quality, strong as an ox. Now comes the reality check, this is the most unreliable car on this planet at the moment, even more than the rangerover. Mine is 3 years old now, has been towed at the rate of 1.33 times per year. Piece of garbage electronics on board keep falling apart. This car sits and rotts in my basement my our polo gets ridden like a village bicycle due to every thing nice about it, i don't mind driving around all day despite it too having a baniya suspension that makes a parting on the road seem like a speed bump. Service makes you wish for the city to get into total chaos mode so you can go and kill their engineers amidst everything. They will try their best to show you their bureaucratic mindset where they will pick up a chart full of solutions to a symptom and simply keep replacing parts and billing you. Do not buy an endeavour, cheaply built. X1 is also unreliable, BMW service is crap. Only car i'd recommend here is the camry or the passat, for reliability. Plus the camry has a rear seat to die for, you can recline them and sleep like a baby

Getting that out of the way. Please slow down a little while speaking, race nahin hai bhai, words clearly aur aaram se bol." But then, i finished the video and must say you came back really nicely in the video. Good work, however, a small niggle. Honestly, Skoda priced at 23- 30!! lakhs. If they priced it around 14-18 lakhs with some of the features removed this would have sold like a hot cake just like it did with Laura(was one of the best cars launched in India). Skoda must stop acting like BMW/M-Benz. Probably better to target upper middle-class customer's.

I don't know why but I really love those DRLs on that... Are they continuous? I mean are those horizontal and vertical parts linked? Doesn't seem like it in the video.

I was asking my self the same question few minutes back addressed by him in the last segment towards the end of the video at 30lack price why should I select Skoda over endeavour , I mean can we even understand the difference if I sit in a superb average indian might not notice me be it BMW 5 series still and if I am inside a endeavour wow, I feel anyone would go for endeavour unless you already own a endeavour in that case no but still it's better deal at 30lacks and then I realised that my bank account doesn't have 3 lacks yet ...

excellent review..and by the way,Sharan...fine use of the english vocabulary. this is definitely a "brain" car...but most buyers would, i guess go for the "heart" car...that is a merc or bmw or audi for the sheer brand value in this price range.

Didn't utilise the whole background to its full effect. If I am not mistaken this is shot somewhere near the Skoda plant at Aurangabad. You could've made this video much better.
