No offence, but the build quality and particularly the safety ratings of Maruti-Suzuki products is nowhere near what would be considered acceptable in the Japanese and EU markets. That beings said, they did sell the Maruti Baleno here for a while as a Suzuki, but it never caught on.
Suzuki have done an amazing job with this car, it would appear to be a very safe car for its occupants, which is quite remarkable considering how small and light it is. Pedestrian safety is very good too in the top of the range car.
Make all cars safe with all safety features and see less cars on road. Indian people wont afford. India has very low per capita income. So Indians would avoid cars and rather buy 2 wheelers which is very unsafe.

That's very impressive - the windscreen glass is intact in all but the very brutal pole side impact test. My septuagenarian parents need a newer car, this one looks very good for them.
one thing you have to consider is that they use lower quality material in indian version cars to lower cost because there is no quality standard fixed in india.

i had own ignis since 2018. 2 years drive 55.000 km. good full consumption 16 km/ L . cheap service maintanance, half toyota city car Agya/ Ayla. Good acceleration with manual mode AGS transmition.

NCAP should test the Ignis sold in India at least in the front collision crash test. Maruti may have provided airbags across all the variants but I doubt its structural integrity. Same goes for Baleno.
Here in Indonesia we don't get the safety package, heck even the most expensive model. Perhaps Suzuki here thinks that pedestrian lives don't matter, you just go to jail after hitting them.

Well, I don't know exactly what that means for my safety - but I love this little fella! Got the 4wd version - it's fun to drive, the acceleration is reasonable and boy is it fun in corners (especially when it's losing and regaining grip)! Not a single time have I felt insecure in that car. Also, it may look a little strange at first, but it has personality and its growing more on me every day.

Every government should make law that no car below 3 star rating should be allowed to sell in the market. Vehicle’s prices will rise but at least we ll get better safety.
