Great video series. I appreciate the solo install. I mostly work alone without a buddy as I'm doing my mods late at night after work. Good to see a instructional video with only one installer. Lots of good information here. Thanks again.
I have a 2012 Cross Country Tour. I found it almost impossible to push the windshield in, so I took the outer fairing off and installed it. Had it on for a month and love it!
John, just as a follow up on the handlebar assemble, did you switch the 90 degree handle attachement piece after? I noticed in part 5 all the allen heads are on the inside when you do the recap.
John, I have the same bars but in chrome, my question is what part of that bracket did you modify on the throttle side of the handle bar, did you just cut off the tip of it?
So that bracket you have to alter on the throttle side is probably for the cruise control?if you have to alter it does that mean these bars are still compatible for bikes with the factory cruise control?
hey boss, like the vid. just wondering if you know of a hammer s having some sort of fairing that looks like the cross coutry's. or where to go to get one. thanks alot
+Leon Golightly You will need the fairing and a mount. Here's a link to both for the Hammer. www.cruisercustomizing.com/batwing-fairing-various-metrics/part/MEM7031 Black Mount www.cruisercustomizing.com/no-tool-trigger-lock-mounting-kit-black-for-batwing-fairing-victory-hammer-kingpin-04-10/part/MEK1928 Chrome Mount www.cruisercustomizing.com/no-tool-trigger-lock-mounting-kit-for-batwing-fairing-victory-hammer-kingpin-05-10-kawasaki-vn1600-mean-streak-04-08/part/MEK1927
+Jacob James This bike is demo and may need to be returned to factory when sold. Next time we can run the wires, but its pretty simple, just time consuming.
Oh ok. Thanks for the response. I've never installed bars before so it would have been nice to see how to run the wires. I appreciate the video though. I learned a lot.
We can show that on an upcoming video, but each bike will be a little different. Main thing to remember before you ever touch wiring...Disconnect The Battery!!!! This will prevent you shorting something out and damaging the electrical system.
