Almost, the thing I dislike most about, and the reason I wouldn't get one, is the engine. Such a car needs a V6 diesel. Compared to the Q7 with a V6, the Q7 has better fuel economy, more power, less noise (since it can pull the car with ease) and we'll, it's a V6.
+PlazmaBooy I think the turbo and supercharged 4 is there just for fuel economy. Heck, my mom has a Buick Enclave with a V6 and it's less powerful than this Volvo. I do think Volvo should expand their engine lineup with this car. We'll see...
+Nick Kazandjieff Jr. Well their gasoline variant will hardly sell in Europe, everyone drives a diesel here. And the Q7's diesel is far superior to Volvo's 4 cylinder.
+Hauke G. I think the problem is they only have it as an option and on very expensive cars. Even something like the Maxima has the same system without costing $100k so it should be more mainstream soon.
The first time you drive the car it's so overwhelming, all the technology makes you wonder how you could have ever lived with out it! It's such a nice drive, I could drive it forever! The Bowers & Wilkins audio system (not equipped in Kyle's XC90) is just AMAZING!
The XC90's infotainment system puts it further ahead by miles compared to any other company (with the exception of Tesla.) Just the size, ease of use, and all the graphics are so much more modern and user friendly than anything else on the market. Well done, Volvo!
Not as good as Teslas (Proud owner of a Tesla, soon to be XC 90 as well). I was driving with my brother and all the sudden he started watching youtube from the center console. WOW. I never knew that, and it amazed the shit out of me.
I like this man ! I am from Sweden and used to work at the Volvo factory :) The XC 90 is a great vehicle, this new gen XC90 is something else! Awesome Review !
Hey Kyle, all the best from Serbia! We, the car lovers are lucky to have someone like you to show us all those great cars! As for this one,it is sooo unreal and really really good that it made me write a comment, mindblowing man. Went to sleep and saw your upload and in a second you were ending the video. Volvo has done its homework,I think this is one of the 3 best SUV's at the moment! All the best once again!!!
I was looking for a new vehicle with seating for up to 7 as the family is about to expand, again. I am fairly certain my search is over. The Volvo XC90 will fit the bill beautifully. I just stumbled across SaabKyle04's videos and they are really well done, great job!
Bought this exact vehicle when we lived in Honolulu. Got 2 young kids & a wife I love; the safety, options, space & style 2nd to none. Gonna drive this one for decades!
Kyle has the best car reviews. Saabkyle for President 2016. Also at 4:40 could you explain what the Perpendicular Parking did. It appeared to double park.
Could be wrong here but, can´t it be so easy that the Volvo did not have any other cars to "aim" between. I doubt that the sensors can notice the lines between the spaces so it thought it was a open field or something? Seen other reviews where it squeezes in between cars perfectly.
tobz d, If there was a car there, the Volvo would detect it and not hit it. It parked on the line because they were double lines, and no cars around it.
+Pienimusta Suomen autovero on kyllä maailman eliittiä. Siihen vielä lisättynä muutenkin keskivertoa kalliimmat autojen verottomat hinnat. Ei ihme, että Suomessa automarkkinat kovassa laskusuhdanteessa. Edes päästömanipuloitujen Volkkareiden hinnat ei laske. XD
Ihme, ettei EU pysty kieltää Suomea verottamasta mm.
+Duan Jinning Yes, very well aware of that haha. There were no opportunities to parallel park where I was, so I engaged the system to at least show how it worked. It works quite well as you can see!
My 244 and my 745 are saying otherwise. The best car Volvo ever made was the 240, and it did so for 20 long years. Followed by the 850. The best motor they ever produced was the redblock. This thing just... runs and runs and runs forever, with little to no care at all. Volvo sold it's soul to please chinese marketers. Can't blame the swedes, I guess, considering the economy today. They used to make brilliant bulletproof and simple machines. Now they're just making... this. Words cannot describe how shitty this car looks like to repair, maintain or simply use as a daily driver for a car enthousiast who likes to feel something when he drives. But then again, I guess all automobile companies are doing the same today. Such a shame...
+Ben Gagnon Well like I say to everybody else, that's your opinion and you are entitled to it. Hell, all kinds of cars will dig deep into your wallet once they hit they shop. And how can you say this is a shitty vehicle when you've never owned one? I hear folks tell me that they hate a Volvo and I think they have lost their ever loving mind! We're talking about some of the most reliable and still the most safest cars around. But oh well people are gonna say what they want.
I'm not interested in driving an autopiloted car. I've droven modern "daily driver" cars. They just lack of substance and they're way too assisted. They're boring... Of course, I've not driven this one in particular, but judging on this review and the number of assistance it is packed with, I highly doubt it is any fun to drive. I'm not saying it won't go faster than my 244, but it won't be as fun to drive. I've also owned a 2004 V40. You couldn't imagine the money I spent on this car, comparing to my 1990 244 (which had at this time 100 000 more miles on it). I mean, look at the engine bay on this XC90. It's just ridiculous. Might as well take a computer, put four wheels on it and call it a car. Overly complex, full of useless gadget (and too pricey for this reason). You really think this car is reliable? My 1992 745 has 200k miles on it. Let's see a 2016 XC90 hit this kind of mileage in the future. I'd be pleased then to tell you I've been wrong. But it won't happen. It just won't, because with all the gadgets and overly complex modules inside, you'll have replaced the whole car twice by the time it hits 200k. And you won't do that because you would have to spend another 62 000 $ to do so.
Back in March of this year I guess I was lucky to stop by my Volvo dealer when I saw they had one in for training. It was a very early production U.S. spec model and it drove amazing. I'm looking forward to the new V90 the most.
undoubtedly, the best premium suv in the market today. Yes, the Range Rover is awesome but the price is almost double this handsome suv. Definitely the perfect car for Volvo's comeback. Take note Tesla, this is how you handle big portrait touchscreen
Hey Kyle, great video. This might seem odd, but what if you only turned on one side's directional lights, so we can see the design of the LED running lights. Just a thought. Keep up the good work!
Yeah one of my favorite things about most new cars is the interesting LED DRLs, arguably one of my favorite design elements in new cars, especially the "soft LEDs" where you can't see the individual LEDs, it looks like frosted glass or something
+Peyton I showed all of that in the video, toward the end of the walk around, I showed both a closeup of the DRLs and the Indicators :) Go back and check it out! Thanks man!
I´ve got this one, with the D5-diesel though and I can honestly say its a great great car. I´m from Sweden and have just been to a roadtrip through Europe for the fifth time....first one in a Volvo. What can I say, the comfort is just super for longtrips and at the same time its really nice to drive in towns as well, due to ground clearence and quick handling (4 its size that is...) The only downside so far is a software issue that I´ve experienced twice; when it was hot outside the climate control thought it was cold and put the heater on....happend twice now in 20000 miles, so no worries....the dealer will fix it with a software upgrade. Other than that....its a beatiful car and people will turn their heads....4 a Volvo!!! Can U believe that haha....never thought that would come out of my mouth! Seriously, better or the same quality than any german car out there...it WILL show in a couple of years. FIRST true swedish Volvo for years......sry Ford but you almost killed Volvo....now its developed by freakin Vikings, its a tough one, I can promise you that.....AND of course ITS THE F-IN SAFEST CAR AROUND....according to your american testings.......go get it if you wanna ride with class and comfort and be safe at the same time!
I saw one yesterday next to were I work in Boston MA and it was the first one I saw in person it was dark blue with black interior and man this SUV looks better and better the closer you get, beautiful ,elegant and everywhere you drive it it looks stunning. Another great review Saabkyle04 keep the great job and I was waiting for this review for a long time
+Kevin Woodard It's so weird. One day, only old XC90's. Next day, I see 3 new XC90's. Now I see atleast 1 everytime I drive. I feel like everyone bought it as soon as it came out to try to have it first haha. I live in Malmö, Sweden.
I really like the newest XC90 body design. It looks very sharp!!! I'm also a HUGE fan of the BMW X5. I drove a few S40 sedans years ago and I really liked them! Those cars were very plush and personable, especially the seats. I hope the XC90's are a lot like them.
Alex Daley you don’t. But if you crave for that buttery smooth 6 or 8 this Volvo is not that...but optioned put like Volvo, X5 is 13K more and GL almost 30K more... so it’s the value. Volvo also has first 4 years oil change and maintenance taken care for free... leasing is safer if you are doubtful...
Great Rview Kyle. The interior is awesome on this redesign. The controls are modern yet simple. the attention to detail is second to none IMO. I am leary of how the turbo and supercharged powertrain will hold up over time, however.
Omg it's so pretty!!! It's one of the best looking premium suvs you can buy now!! I'd never wanna actually own it tho. I dunno how all those electronics will be like in 10 years....might be an electrical engineers nightmare.
What a nice, calming Volvo chime at starting the vehicle.

Nice video! For another video to come, it would be interesting to check all the Driving Systems that the car has. More info in our channel ;) But well done!
Yeah, that is actually a separate system from the one in the middle Sensus. It works at a higher refresh rate to give values faster and is what makes it able to replace the needle.
+funky3ddy A video-camera works by taking multiple images in a rapid sequence. An animation/video works by displaying multiple images in a rapid sequence. If these two sequences doesn't sync up correctly then a video of an animation might seem choppy even though it's not.
Völundr Frey also , the camera they used for recording this sees these animations as delayed , the same kind of thing when you film the break lights of a car , you see them flash and strobe.
