The 2016 makeup looks soooooo much better! I still carve TF out of my brows with concealer. It just looks better. IMO, 2016 is more glamourous, evening makeup whereas 2024 is more natural, daytime makeup. Great video!
For an oily girl like me it’s 2016 all day just no eyeshadow for everyday/work look and eyeshadow + lashes for a night/going out look! Love these tutorials! Watching from 🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦

I don’t follow trends. I believe in doing whatever interests/works for me. What looks nice/works for someone else may not work for you. However, both are nice. Great tutorial/demo. ❤
2016 for me bc I’m so oily. HOWEVER, I no longer wear foundation unless I’m going out out. For my everyday job look, I just use concealer for under my eyes and I throw on some powder bronzer for my eyelids and as my contour. I also no longer “bake.” I do not like the dewy look for my oily skin, so I prefer to still have the matte look. My foundations are still matte foundations when I do decide to have a full beat face.
I’m split😂 I absolutely adore the 2016 eye shadow and full coverage foundation, but…I like the under glow method of 2024, along with the concealer and eyeliner.
In 2016 the trends were challenging for me as I was never a big full coverage girl. I always felt less is more. However the look was always beautiful. For 2024 I love being comfortable…in clothes, shoes and makeup. I love it!
Personally, I don't pay attention to the trends. I think makeup is supposed to be about you and what makes you feel beautiful. I've never believed in "rules" in regard to makeup and clothing. Style is personal.
I've been doing my own personal signature 2024 style forever, it's not about following trends, but my own style. I never felt the need to follow trends other creating my unique own and feeling confident. .
I do my makeup every single day for work. I feel like 2016 was more product intensive and that's because all the "big" beauty RU-vidrs were trying to hawk as many products as they could with their partner codes (that they usually didn't even disclose)! I'm still glad i learned all those techniques though, because I feel like it made me a more rounded makeup user and now I'm able to pick and choose what I use for my daily routine. My fave? 2024 for work/daily, 2016 for special occasions/date night.
2016 makeup is great for photographs/video when there are bright studio lights on the face. But I think 2024 makeup looks better in person. It’s not as cakey and you don’t see as much texture on the skin.
Personally a fan of both so I tend to mix and match the two. I lean more towards bolder/2016 techniques for night looks I want to stand out more in low lighting. 2023/24 is cute for the day, or soft looks. But she's not cut for a great night out I'm sawry😂🤚🏾

Hello Ale Jay! I love your thorough explanation in every videos. btw I'm loving the 2024 makeup look, eventho I rarely wears makeup, I would love to recreate the look. On a day to day basis, I only have sunscreen (which gives natural glow for my skin), lip tint as lip colour and blush, and my eye brow done. 😊 please do more of beginner friendly 2024 makeup please
I like the 2024 look. Less steps, still pretty. It was cute when you referred to the blushes back in the day. You did have to look for more pigmented blushes, but they were there. Now go back to my “back in the day”, when you only had light pink & light peach. Lipstick on your cheeks was a whole thing. 🤣
2024 is me right now. Always a neutral brown eyeshadow. MAC soft brown on deck. No highlighter. No foundation, just concealer with tinted hue glow moisturizer and very minimal eyebrows. Also, a light brown lipliner with lipgloss. I call it my Lori Harvey look done in 5 mins. Clear mascara and maybe a lined upper eyelid not lower if I’m up to it. I’m all about the skin glow vs the hard beat. Plus I’m aging and that beat face just don’t look right anymore for me in my late 40’s.
Great job explaining and demonstrating the makeup trends! Personally don't follow trends much. I prefer to wear eye shadow and no foundation. Natural lashes and lip color whether lip stick,gloss or lip liner and oil.
Ngl I admired my older sister so much in 2016 while I was in elementary school n she was in high school so her makeup techniques n products kinda just stuck w me also I don’t use makeup on a regular bases only when I’m going out for an event or something n 2016 is the type of look I go for 😭
