The scenic shots are ever so nice. Racking focus is as effective as ever. Thanks for letting your friend go first. This is the most natural, best OnXMaps ad ever. Thanks!
This shows you are truly a great sportsman to know it's not ethical and it's not worth taking the shot that could injure live stock and potentially ruin landowner relations for a deer your show is great be safe and happy hunting from Maine
Hey Randy! I just wanna let you know I love watching your videos! Your doing a heck of a good job!! I especially love watching your videos from my home state of Wyoming. I'm glad you show other hunters the reals of hinting and the most important part of conservation! Showing DIY is something very unique which I love to share on my social media pages as well! Keep up the great work!! - Dylan
Randy. Thanks for the awesome video. I was over at oyoa and saw a thread about your new thunder stick. I was thinking, looks Cool! I'll pack your next two elk if you put one of your old Howa Alpines on long term loan to me- no point in letting them get dusty. Just a standing offer for your consideration! Cheers from BC
I know this is just a commercial for gucci hunting gear and tech, but still it's done on public lands, hiked in, and there isn't a game feeder tucked in behind there. This is real hunting and that's fantastic.
I don't want to get off on the wrong foot here, because I love the fact that you guys are really hunting on real land and that anyone can go do what you're doing. BUT, let's be honest about sponsorship. There's nothing wrong with making partnerships and taking sponsors to produce this awesome content. So, please don't take it as insult. However, these suppliers are giving gear and $$$ in exchange for endorsement and exposure, and to me that's a commercial.
You said the episode was "just a commercial," which carries the implication that the only reason for telling this story is because someone is writing a check. If that is what you feel, fine. I disagree. I do take the comment as an insult, but that comes with the territory I operate in. The episode is a story that shows viewers how much opportunity exists for those willing to do a little work and willing to hunt on left-over or second choice tags in Wyoming, something that comes as a big surprise for those who think Wyoming is about expensive hunts. Given how hard it is for hunters to find places to hunt, most find the episode to be an example that gives new ideas and useful information. In the vein of being "honest about sponsorship," here is my approach to sponsorship. This gig isn't how I pay my bills. With that blessing, I'm not inclined to do anything outside my "why" based on money or sponsorship. I turn down tons of proposals, as the companies do not produce a product that would be good for our style of hunting and I wouldn't insult my audience trying to promote those products. Costs me a lot of money to have that approach, but I don't really care. Most products I use are from companies with which I do not have any formal relationship; they make a good product for our style of hunting. The simple motto for me when it comes to sponsor relationships is this, "If it doesn't work for our style of hunting, no amount of love or money is going to get me to use it or promote it." Best to you.
I fully understand and agree with the elements of putting in the work to find those hunting opportunities and know that is your ultimate goal here. I'm sure other people are inspired by your hunts, and we both hope they are successful in their own. Please accept my apology for having received insult from my post. You have my utmost respect as a genuine hunter, versus those who go to game ranches and shoot tame deer beside a feeder. Sponsorship is not a bad thing, but it does bring an unrealistic element to things. Can anyone go out and hunt like this? Of course, that's the whole point of your channel. Can everyone afford the high end gear? No. Is it necessary? Again no, but it sure makes things easier. What the sponsorship does is bring about a desire to use that gear, or at least an awareness of it to the consumer. Those who are inclined to do this sort of hunting might be influenced to purchase that gear simply because of the sponsorship. So in my eyes, and clearly we disagree, sponsorship can turn things in to a commercial and the viewer should always keep that in their minds when watching sponsored content. Again, no disrespect, and I eagerly await joining you on your next hunt.
I really enjoy your videos Mr.Randy they are awesome it motivates me more and more on becoming a game warden. Also at age of 16 this past January 2018 I was able to harvest my first buck being a 10 pointer it was and inexplainable feeling it's just awesome enjoying the outdoors and my passion has grown and hopefully reach my dream in becoming a game warden. Thank you and keep uploading they are awesome videos hope you reply to my comment:)
Being a resident of WY makes that pretty easy. I was just so focused on my early rut elk hunt (Wy 78 with a slug gun!!! It was cool!) that by the time I wanted to get up to my deer spot, it had snowed so much I couldn't get in. Also, it's in griz country and I didn't have anybody to go with... I play it smart. I still have a trail cam over 10,000' that won't be ready to fetch until July.
Hey Randy, love to hunt but not too fussy when there are so many domestications around. I like the wilderness and it's sounds as that is what I am used to and push at change. Guess in the real world you take the card you're dealt eh.. that was good show, very interesting and may very well be the future for many hunters!
Shot my best whitetail buck ever, in the sage brush chasing a doe about a mile away from a creek bottom in Montana. I moved to Oklahoma where there isn't much public land, which really sucks. Anyways, my dad or younger brother every year shoot a dandy of a whitetail in the same spot. Wish I could add pictures over this.
North Central Oklahoma. All of the lakes have public land around them with great hunting. Bow Hunting that is. Rifle season gets hammered. Kaw Lake, Hulah Lake, Copan, all of those
ethical people way outnumber the goofballs, thank God for that. On my farm in Ky where i hunt there is stock everywhere and i am very particular about who i let on there just for that reason. we only take really nice mature bucks every year but i had to a hoss walk this year. he was in a pasture with cattle and horses and a neighbors house about 3/4 mile away. what a shame, he was 25-26 inside typical 10. oh well it is what it is. great video as usual Mr Newberg, keep em coming Godspeed.
iv'e been waiting you for so long and i want to say that thank you i could use some hunting supplies maybe a knife and its my birth day on July 20 and ill be 11.;) thank you plz
