I know it's easy for railbirds to get real snarky about the racino business model.....but it has worked out well in Ohio and pulled the state Thoroughbred industry out of a disastrous death spiral. That the Ohio Derby has re-earned graded stakes status is a positive sign; but it's the breeding farms - any number that survived the tough years - continuing down a positive path that is the bellwether of the grand comeback.
With the stretch drive on a head on angle, you can see Girvin swerved bad and bumped Irap out. So even if Girvin did win the nose they'd probably disqualify him and place him second anyways. But these two had a great race though! Still both duds compared to the last two seasons of 3 year olds, but none the less. They're winning races and entertaining to watch and look like they're in good hands.
they are NOT disqualifying girvin in a BIG race like this for swerving..it was not that bad ..please grow a brain...girvin moved WAY too early in this race and it cost him the win
the biggest race in the history of Thistledown and the announcer says "if I had to guess it is Girvin" oh geesh and btw why the bad angle at the finish line? can we please let these tracks know it is 2017 and it is not hard to get a camera on the finish line?
