I tried so many times to get away without taking it off, and I couldn't figure it out. There's definitely been times that I managed to get things to work without taking things completely apart, and other times that I couldn't. Seems like it's just the luck of the draw for me.
I have ktm sxf 250cc 2012 fuel injection it starts first time always but runs for 10sec then dies try give gas it dies can u help my injectors are all good fuel pressure is good don’t understand can I pulser coil cause it to die
I think when my bike finally stopped working it did the same thing. It started, ran fine for a few seconds then made a strange sound and died. Then every time I tried to start it after that, it would fire once and die. But I don't know what a pulser coil is, or what it does, or if it would do that.

The issue was the freewheel. Since I had the problem during covid, the supply chain was all screwed up and it took several months to get the replacement. Since I had heard of this being a common weak point on these bikes, I ordered two. Once it was in, everything worked great. There's a video of the conclusion on my channel.
Problem: Starter doesn't work, and there's no kick start. Solution: Buy a bike with a kick start. It took nearly 6 months for the replacement freewheel to get to me. The only solution was to get another bike.
No, it was the Freewheel. They seem to have a high failure rate. Since parts were backordered for so long when mine failed, I ordered 2 so that I can have a spare on hand. Definitely cheaper to fix than buying a new bike, but I had to wait more than 6 months for the part.
