It's actually detrimental. The PCH does not want to be heatsoaked. If we were to put thermal paste on the PCH, the PCH would actually run hotter as the heat from the hot CPU core and heatsink would be transferred into it. I used to do the same, however the PCH will run cooler without thermal paste on it. Thanks for your question.
I had thought that this would be the case, but still on almost every other laptop the pch gets thermal paste because under stress it will run pretty hot too. Anyway, its food for thought, thanks for the answer@@TCRSCircuit 👍
