Yes I was stepping on the brake, it does not show in the video.
Also headlamps flicker while driving, idling and even when its turned off.
Someone thought I was flashing them, learned really quick to turn them on manually instead of having them on auto… specially at night!

Mine did the same thing. It ended up being a bad starter relay. Works fine now.
@GaryJean84
@GaryJean84 Год назад
Over half the time it’s due to the R6 starter relay behind the passenger headlight. It’s same relay that is used for the rear defroster located in the trunk underneath the floor board. If it starts after swapping the two then you’ll have to order a new relay to replace the one in the trunk.

@beatrizguiselle Год назад
I’ll be taking it to the shop, oddly enough it does it sporadic. I did read in the forums the relays may be an issue, any idea how to test it out before I go buying all 6?
@GaryJean84
@GaryJean84 Год назад
@@beatrizguiselle Unfortunately, the only way to determine if it’s the R6 relay is to either swap it with the relay in the truck or purchase a new one. This is my fourth time replying to your message. Apparently, you can't provide links in the comments section, so my responses with more info were removed.

@@GaryJean84 I will try that swap and hope it resolves the issue. Seems to be a common thing in these cars. Thank you for your input.

Gary THANK YOU for this info. My daughter is constantly having this issue, I have spent hours searching for WHY. We will try this. As you know dealerships deny having any knowledge of this. We are so frustrated they are so unwilling to resolve this issue for car owners. You Sir are the MAN!!!

Check your hood latches and be sure they are secure. I had a slow start earlier in the week after using a lot of battery to lubricate the seat mechanism. I was chasing down a squeak in the drivers outside side bolster and running the seat back all the way up and all the way back a few times with some grease in the gears did the trick. I also pulled the plastic seat back off as well as the plastic side cover to lube the springs. I keep the car on a trickle charger at home and I think the recent cold contributed to the error. Car was in N mode only for a day and I blew up my old MultiECUScan software trying tp scan it. It worked fine on my oil change back in August. I think the BT code reader was not seated properly. A couple starts later and it was back to normal and E throttle message did not appear at all. I dl'd an update for my scan software, got it working again, and that code never appeared. There were plenty of other module voltage codes but the throttle or start stop was not one of them. Also, I saw the trickle charger was low in the yellow the morning after he slow start. Now it is back to green and I searched a new battery just in case. We'll see what happens. 2018 Quad.

2018 Giulia started having issues this year. We took it to the dealer for the 40K maintenance and we mentioned the issue that comes and goes. Now a month later the issue is back and I have only got it to start once.

its the starter relay, just change all relays that are in the box under the right headlight or you can get to them easier, if you remove front right wheel. You can find a giude with pictures on alfa forums... Some trims have red omron relays some have black. its an issue with a bad batch of relays, blame Omron :D

It’s a 2017 with 36k miles on it. If you are on the original battery, be thankful the battery lasted this long. And Always have a Battery jumper with any European car.

Before doing anything else, first check the number one cause for these errors. From your video, it looks like the battery contacts are contaminated with oxide. This is a very common issue, independently of the car brand. Remove the negative cable first, then undo the two screws at the red plate over the positive fuse block side, then remove the positive fuse block. Now use a metal brush to remove all the corrosion around the battery poles, then do the same cleaning inside the positive and negative terminals. Make sure to remove all the white powder and oxide discoloration. Reinstall the positive fuse block, then do the negative terminal. The issue should go away. On the initial Start, a series of errors will show up, this is expected. Start the engine now. To clear the errors: Wait a while to let the error messages to show up, then rotate the wheel totally to the left (counterclockwise), then totally to the right (clockwise), then return the wheel to center position. Stop the engine. Start the engine. Most of the errors should be cleared by now. Stop the engine again, then start it. The remaining errors should be cleared as well. If not, try one last stop engine and start. If the errors continue and you are sure the battery poles and cable terminals are clean of any oxidation, then it is time to visit the dealer. Same issue with my Stelvio. It happened once in the highway and once in city downtown causing traffic since my car was blocked in P. I thought it was the battery initially, but when I changed it I still have the issue. My OBD scanner are giving me fuel pump/system errors and will be bringing again my car to the dealer for the 4th time in 2mos ;( Did you solve your issue?

Mine has never gone limp mode while driving, i do have the headlamps turn on and off while driving and even when the car is off locked and parked away for the night…. My car is possessed… its the Italian demons. Issue still there there is something that is draining my battery and cant figure out what the OBD trows a different code all the time

Have you tried changing the 6 relays under headlight of the passenger side?
@beatrizguiselle
@beatrizguiselle Год назад
I will give that a shot, Starter relay & ASD relay may be the culprit, perhaps this is why the lights also turn on while the car is off? Have you experienced the same issue?

@@beatrizguiselle Personally i don't have these problems with my Giulia but I know people who have solved it in this way. Try replacing the six relays with the new ones updated with the code: Mopar 11130885. And at the next battery change, install a battery with AGM technology

I get what you mean, these cars aint cheap and cant really get them serviced just anywhere, another is that maintenance is high price as well, just like all other euro cars it depreciates like crazy. Let us know how the volvo goes I was particularly interested in the s90 at some point.
