im happy , i just got one of the last brand new alienware 13 1060 oled laptops and its running flawless , i put it back in the box after testing , i gotta get the ethernet and power surge protection .
Lol @ suicide warning. Was that intentional or did you mean seizure warning? I love this laptop though, I just got mine about 2 weeks ago. After getting it, I've debated a few times if I should've gotten a 15" with a 1070 and a 1080p g-sync IPS display, but I like the size/portability and OLED screen enough more to not regret it, especially since I do more than game on it. If it was only for gaming, I'd rather have g-sync.
I generally am, but there is the input lag still. I have to say with the panel's response time, the input lag is more manageable than it would otherwise be, BUT there are some games, Unity Engine games that have big issues with diagonal tearing due to optimus. Games like Superhot, etc. It's because the "fullscreen" mode is actually running in borderless windowed rather than exclusive fullscreen because they devs left an optional parameter out when they compiled it, and in that situation, NVIDIA GPUs in laptops with Optimus have exhibited this problem for years without a fix. Some say it's a Windows 10 issue, others say it's NV. Laptops with g-sync however, don't have that problem.
PapaP86 I just played with the 15" version at the Microsoft store and it is freaking massive, it's thicker then the 13" and MUCH bigger in every other way!
Battery life reduces after about 2-3 months if you plan to do intense gaming and keep it plugged in 24/7. I own the 17 inch model and its worth it in my opinion.
Hi Thank you for the video. Just one Question please, is the 13 inch big enough, I mean how is it compared to Razer blade 14, Because OLED is just on 13 inch, I checked for 15 inch but they don't offer in confugiration , if the screen is just as RB 14 that will be enough for me. Thank Again
+MML MTT thanks mate! 13" is definitely enough for daily use, but not for serious gaming. I can still play gta on it, and i do really enjoy the oled screen and 60fps very high graphics though. but believe me, oled is worth a try, u'll be blown away by the deep black, amazing colours and insane viewing angle. Also minimal latency
James Adams the pixel response time for the OLED screen is much better, but the 1080p screen is sufficient as well. If you're planning on buying this one, try to save up for the OLED cause it is worth it.
Lawrence Law I know it might be kind of late, but watching video or doing typing word, checking out websites would last around 4 hours. Gaming would last 1.5 hour ish
+mangesh rananavare unfortunately not… after repeated update and BIOS refresh, the problem still exists… a friend of mine however doesn't hb this issue
Wow that's strange it is annoying using such and expensive laptop like that. Btw yesterday I closed tobbii eye tracking and it seems to have gone . Ill check again today and let u know You can try the same
Lady Gaga really? Almost gave a thumbs down, but great material and presentation. And thanks for mentioning the lag issue; didn't see other youtubers mentioning that. Thumbs up 🖒
hi, im planning to get one alienware 13 r3. but i have yet to decide on whether to get the oled screen or not. currently, i fear that the oled screen might burn in in the long run. any advices anyone?
Abdul Hakim Manan OLED is better. The burn in only happens if you leave it in like bright colors for more than a couple hours. Nothing to fear about unless you leave it like that. If you want to leave your computer on overnight, have something black opened on the screen with low brightness overnight. I also ordered the laptop with OLED so I read some articles and now know this info. Enjoy your OLED if you get it!
IronPandemonium ok, thanks. There is a section where you can customize your computer, so I will probably get a stronger graphics card or/and the oled screen. Thx for the advice!
I have or had both the RBP for 4 months before I sold it as I did not need both. Now I am missing the RBP and thinking of buying the new one and selling my AW 13 OLed (Kaby Lake). RBP is better for gaming and I love both keyboards. The Screen on the RBP is better just for the size alone and no Optimus which I dislike. Portability on both is quite good.
