Bobby, please keep up the good work and getting these reviews out for us. I can't quite understand why some idiots seem to have an issue with your accent or the way you speak. I don''t see them bitching about the Central European and US Southern accent of some reviewers outside Malaysia so ignore them and stay Malaysian. Love the format of your videos, the straight forward content and your objective no-bullshit opinion about a lot of things. Subscribed - cheers, brother!
Seriously Bobby, your reviews are absolutely the best! Clear, detailed, engaging and entertaining :) I'm so in love with this 5 series and can't wait for the the day that I can finally own one... Keep up the awesome work, Bobby! Cheers!
Nice review. Im surprised that the 5er has a better ride than the E Class. BMW has mastered the science of suspension. But bro, the place where you floored the throttle nearby National Science Centre used to have a lot of speedtraps. Dont know if its still like that now.
Bobby, do you mind to make a video regarding the proper usage of rear fog light? I find many drivers just turn it on to show off how cool is the extra light at the ass of his/her car! Please help us educate more people how to use the rear fog light
before going to sleep u just have to upload this bobby haha. anyway love all ur review videos bobby, love ur reviewing style especially the straightforward-ness no going around the bush. go pros are shit and drivers fork off when bmw comes haha. keep it up bobby!! by the way bobby will it be too much to ask for a video of mazda 3 and the hyundai ioniq? thanks bobby
a very good day from South Africa Bobby. love your reviews. I am torn between the 520d and s90 d5 which I am buying in the next week. which car between the two is better as far as the semi autonomous driving systems is concerned. for me that will be the deciding factor. thanks in advance for your input.
I've driven the S/V90 in semi-autonomous, BMW 7 series as well. For the G30 5 series, Malaysian market doesn't come with semi autonomous, but i would presume it's the same as per in the 7-series. Both are equally good in everyway. I find the S/V90's cabin prettier. And the D5 is the one with power pulse right? I drove that in the global press launch in Spain, it has no lag, very good diesel engine.
Hi Bobby, since now the CKD E class pricing is closer to the 5 series, would u do a video in comparison of the both (e.g. E250 vs 5 series)? Well, as of the horsepower, we know E class is no match for 5 series, unless the E300 AMG.. However, it would be great if u can comment on the interior, comfort, and which car is worth to buy with 400k. Thanks Now I am a bit stuck in between of the two, I am aware of that recently the BMW has improved a lot in terms of quality. But, I have friends commented that some of the new 3 series have been in and out of service centre (though service is free for 5 yrs, but quite troublesome). So, if you have the money with you now, which would you get and why? Cheers
Hi, my personal opinion: - E250 interior is very beautiful, shinier, glitzier and grander than 530i. - Many people can't accept the full sporty M-sport interior of the 530i - I really like the open pore ash wood in lay of the E250 Exclusive - I discovered many cost cutting stuffs in the E250 interior, the rear air cond vent housing, the volume knob on the driver's side while the drive select on the passenger side (a sign of mercedes never bothered to switch them when going from LHD to RHD) because these are very frequently used controls (hence they're in physical form instead of hidden in menus). The driver have volume control on steering, why is the knob there? The passenger to switch the car's Drive Select? - The 530i's sun visor fabric feels not atas enough ... but other than that, i can't find any low rent materials anywhere. - In terms of safety, both cars are far behind that of the S90/V90 with full semi autonomous safety systems and city safety autobrake, pedestrian detection, booster seats (makes a lot of different if you have a 5 year old, because a car seat takes up so much space) - Interior room, the S90 is roomiest, the 530i second, e-class tightest. - S90 most powerful with 254hp, 530i 252hp and E250 211hp - I would flag the E200 as a Do not buy as it's really not worth it - I haven't driven the E-Class, but verdicts from all over the world and my local peers all said the 5 series is more plush and pliant and comfortable yet sportier and handles better too. This to me correlates with the 330i, plusher and more comfortable than the C250 but sportier to drive as well. - Lastly is very personal, looks, i prefer the S90's interior and exterior design, second is the 5-series and the Merc e-class to me doesn't look better than the previous generation albeit the interior looks beautiful. - Interior build, i would rate Volvo highest in terms of use of material, but in terms of fit and finish, solidity and sound proofing, the 530i and E-Class edges it out slightly. Final, amongst the three if your budget is at a dead RM400k, the 530i M-Sport, if you can stretch, go for the S90/V90 T6 R-design. But the ultimate best buy for this price range, is the XC90 T8 Inscription. A no brainer car for its comfort, classiness, space, performance, economy etc. It easily matches a Range Rover (supposed to be RM850k if weren't for tax deductions)
Wow, thanks for taking your time and sharing your knowledge and opinions regarding all this... Thanks a lot .. What's your comment about the frequent service centre visits of the previous BMW models? Do you think it may happen in the future BMW cars? I think BMW is trying to prove its improvements by offering 5 yrs/100,000k free service as well as 5 yrs free warranty... But I heard there are a few parts BMW actually uses plastic, instead of other materials; in places like water pump, thermostat and even the coolant tank which will tend to fail/crack after 5-10 years of drive (usually seen after the car has reached >100k of milage).. I mean, I do love the free service and long warranty, but kinda afraid of keep going in and out of service centre all the time..
+Han Tan if you study more into automotive manufacturing, you'll learn that all these are from the same suppliers that supplies to all car makers. As far as i know of, all of them new german premium cars are very reliable. Like i said, my 6ser is entering its 6th year, (touch wood), problem free.
i got to know the 530i coming with phev next year first quarter.. u may want to check it out.. if it's phev it shud be lower than current 398k, if plug in is ur thing. the 330e is absolute 👍. i like my dad E250 2011 as my arse is big, and panaromic but the gear shift is lazy on winding road. wonderful interior i go for E class. driving quality i go for 5 series unless merc do smtg about their gearbox. sorry bobby i hijacked the comment 😁.. but thanks for ur review on tiguan.. i actually bought it n it feels superb..
The deal breaker for me is heads up display. Drove a 528i MSport for 5 years with heads up display and I was about to buy a similar one in Vegas but it came without it. No go until I can find the perfect one....other than that it’s a beautiful well designed car
hi bobby. i shortlist g30 as my next car. i have around 80-100k for depo. can you advise the wisest way to optimize my cash vs the loan offered by banks. considering right now g30@320k+/-. spent all for dp? stretch 9yrs? or less? will we drive & own it more than 7yrs? lastly, 530i or 530e?
Hey bobby.i also have some issue with the material used in that sunvisor and also the roof lining ,to the side of b pillar.that feeling to the touch is not so good though
Nice video as usual bro! Can you do a review of BMW 318i? I am planning to get one but quite weary of the 3 cylinder inside. Test drove it but feeling abit on the fence so your opinion would be greatly appreciated!
apologies for the late reply ... was so busy i don't even have time to go through the comments. I believe almost everyone who have driven the 318 loves it. The rawty sound of the engine, the decent performance and fuel economy. I haven't driven it though, but i know our editor Keegan Dorai, Carlist's expert test drive guy Kon also love it more than the 320i
i pun mau tidur tapi kalo tak kasi upload kasi clear gua mia hdd esok lagi manyak tak boleh muat ... kasihan bob ... laptop dah panas macam sterika ...
Not sure where the place is and how much they'll charge 😂 but just look up "Bimmer Coder" on Facebook. I see that from their facebook posts, they'll help you retrofit literally anything from the BMW's option list for you and update your car. They also do other continetal cars too! (P.s do help me ask on how much they'll charge to retrofit the ID6 idrive on the 6 series😂😂)
@eyesskaljack 60,000 is alot of money. For that price disparity, no. Just let the prices sit like that for a year, and BMW will automatically win in large exec sedan sales, unless Merc drops the price. And when CKD production kicks in... watch out Merc.
+DiamondPorkCraft the S90 has a much better interior design and material, more high tech safety and convenience features. The G30 is a more satisfying drivetrain (better response engine and transmission), has key features that are attractive day to day (sunroof, display key, harmon kardon speaker) if i were to apply the scoring chart i developed for asean car of the year, the volvo might score slightly lower behind the bmw, but personally i will buy the S90 T6R over the G30, but not the T5.
It's a showroom test car, every tom dick and harry's gonna come up, fill up forms and terrorised the car the moment their seat belts are fastened. I just drove slumber like how you see in the video.
+Kenny Seow thanks for your comments, but i cannot stay neutral to pretend i like something i dont or pretend that i dont like something that i do. I have to just say what i felt from driving, touching, feeling. :)
