They both a pros and cons, I have the G30 diesel and I used to have the F10 535i some of the amazing diesel features is torque feels amazing and fuel km’s like 1440km per 63 litres whereas the my petrol 535i was doing around 700/800km per 63 litres.

Diesels are everyday cars where as with petrol you have to be making a lot of money before you can drive them guilt free
In the real world, for everyday use? The Diesel. Cheaper to run, just as fast, and the accelaration you need daily, overtaking or getting on the highway to speed up, is actually quicker. ^_^ Buying petrol instead of diesel cars below 300hp makes no sense.
Why "buying petrol instead of diesel cars below 300hp makes no sense" ? I have an 2008 golf 5 1.6i (102hp) and it's a lot cheaper (and fun) to run than any diesel car :). Oil, filters, car insurance, fees to state, everything is cheaper to a petrol than diesel.
Adrian I just gave you multiple reasons why. The fees and taxes, sure, but not the insurance. They don't give a shit if it's a Diesel or a Petrol, they care about the power of the car, the drivers history, the price of the car etc. (I worked 2 years for an insurance company), and I highly doubt that your 1.6 petrol isn't as thirsty as a Diesel. Sorry mate, but I don't believe that for one bit.
The weird thing is my e30 325i has same result as the 535d and it's only 2.5 not much of a mods except new ecu, and new stock 256 camshaft, and rocker arms thats it lol.
@@dzionisis no, 535d is 535d. Europe and american same. Biturbo 3.0 with 313hp. 535d is in F10/F11. In america are F10s 535d with 313hp. Next generation (G30) is only 530d or 540d. And again it is same for europe and america. You talk about 2 different generations lol
535d is fast and and all, but its just the boring way the power comes, i like it to be a bit explosive, however i will say i think the 535i engine is too small for the 5 series, the diesel is more meant for a heavy car like this.
First of all diesel was not faster and 2nd the diesel used launch control...petrol didnt and still was a sec faster. Do you people watch videos with your butt
Yall hating on Diesel don't realize 420 torque feels faster and pushed you in your seat harder. Btw if you tune a 535d you get 350HP and 520 torque. It smokes 535i all day at that point and a lot of other cars .......plus the mileage oh la la. 40 mpg with tuned and down pipe take EGR out
