Hi guys welcome back to another video! Today we’re going to be installing the FTP B46/B48 Chargepipe on my 2017 BMW F30 330i. I plan on getting her tuned with bootmod3 soon and the number one thing to go wrong on turbocharged BMW’s is the OEM chargepipe blowing off when tuned. The OEM chargepipe is made out of plastic and can be easily blown off when increasing boost.
With the FTP Chargepipes installed, we’re ready for more boost and we gained increased throttle response and more audible turbo spool and intake noise.

Did you have a small gap between the lip of the turbo and your charge pipe or was it completely flush?

Hey!! Nice video! Ive got a stock 2017 330xi with the b46. Got a few questions: 1. Ive heard that the newer f30s with the newer b4x engines have stronger charge pipes then the N variants. Is that true? 2. Ive been thinking of getting an FTP charge pipe as my first mod but im wondering if it will affect temps as it is replacing plastic with aluminum, which will conduct more heat. Do you know if there will be a large effect? Im a mechanical engineer and pretty anal about that type of thing lol 3. Have you have any leaks /cel /issues since the install? Thanks!

Thank you! I appreciate it! Hmm I think the benefits of having the charge pipes out weight the increased heat if there's any! You definitely don't want to blow your charge pipe, which can happen even on stock boost levels. If you do get a tune, you for sure should get one! I haven't had any issues with leaks or CEL, pretty much a bolt on thing!

I see we have the same intake! Are there any downsides to having intake without a shield? I know there’s a lot of heat under the hood and I’m just wondering if mine is being counterproductive sucking in the hot air

Hi Ivan! And I think it's definitely worth the money, especially if you can find them used from other people on the forums. However, I do feel like if you can save up and get bm3 (bootmod3) it'll be way better than the JB+!

I have the same exact model of car that you do, and I've been looking into upgrading my intercooler. The B46 engine manual says the car has an intercooler, but it looks like the charge pipe goes straight from the turbo to the engine in my car. Am I missing something?
