Thats because the factory downpipe is still on the truck. I have an aFe downpipe installed now (im in Canada), stay tuned for a sound comparison. That howling sound went away
Hey, I know this video is older but I just got one of these diesels. Curious how much it cost you to delete it or did you do it yourself? Is it a straight pipe with AFE downpipe?
If my memory serves me correctly tuning was around $1000 and the exhaust another $300-$400. It has a AFE turbo back exhaust with the stock exhaust flange at the base of the downpipe. Nobody has worked on this truck but myself
I had the truck throw a code which triggered the CEL on the first version of the tune. I emailed them and they sent me an updated tune same day which cleared the code and made the CEL go away. This was many months ago so I would assume the current tune files won't throw any codes
Hi did u do the tuning ur self / egr delete and what happen to the hose and wire that were hook to the exhaust ? How do u like the tune till now ? I have a 2016 Colorado diesel which would like to do it to. Thanks would really appreciate ur answer on this.
Hello. The tuning was done by MotorOps. I believe theyre out of Canada. Once you have their tune installed, you can remove several of the sensors/injectors from the exhaust system. You can either cap the old sensor plugs, or remove them completely. I love their tunes. Ive been running their tune 3, which is a sport economy tune, as well as their TCM tune as well. Overall very pleased. 10/10 would recommend
@@MrTesedgar I would highly recommend getting the transmission tuning as well. I think most companies require you to get both anyways. The shift strategy and firmness is much improved. I do believe you need the TCM tuning in order to see a noticeable increase in milage
@@hunterschaferoutdoors0219 As far as I know MotorOps uses Duramax tuner tunes. I have no no issues with the truck with their tunes. It drives like a totally different truck. I would be very hesitant to get tunes from local tuners, especially those with little or no experience with the 2.8. Its not all about power, the Motor Ops/Duramax Tuner guys spent thousand of miles fine tuning the drivability with their tunes
Yes up 5mpg in my commute. The biggest improvement in milage comes with around town driving at just under highway speeds. My daily commute is 35 miles round trip. Most highway between 45-60mph and a stretch of a few miles that I do 75-80 mph. Prior to tuning, the truck averaged 25.2mpg, and now I teeter on 29.9-30.0mpg. On a road trip with cruise control set around 70-72mph I wouldn't be surprised if you would average 40mpg
I’m assuming you mean cost. The ECM and TCM tuning was $1300 and then the exhaust was another $450. The tuning is well worth the money, it’s a totally different truck with the tune
I have a 17 ZR2 stock with a S&B CAI. On the highway I get 31-34 mpg. I posted a video when the truck almost got 33 mpgs. I cant wait to tune and delete it.
