This is why brands like Agile and AIO Wolf are becoming more popular. Every year they get better but are still only $500. With the low-end Gibson (studio) going for $1,500 you never know what problems you will have quality control. People are realizing they have quality alternatives to spending $1,500-$3,000 on a guitar that won't be perfect. For the same money you can get a high quality instrument and over a thousand left over for an amp/effects.
Totally had the same issue ... I have same exact guitar with a factory bigsby... had to sand down the inlay to smoothen it out Agree with your assessment, actually a great axe altogether, love the ‘57 humbuckers
I’ve heard great things of those Slash models. Wouldn’t doubt that it probably has an amazing neck. Generally, the way the neck feels is everything to a Les Paul
I've got the same model, my inlays are still perfectly set. I hope it won't pop out ! The only visual problem I had were scratches on the binding next to the fret board. It comes from the removal of binding in between the frets. They could have spent more time polishing it. Great guitar though.
@@electricworkshop4462 I'm guessing the glue they used on that run was shitty for whatever reason, old, chemical issue, who knows. That being said , your correct on saying this LP is an amazing guitar, best I've played, and I've owned and played many in the last 40 years. Hang on it bro !
I appreciate this video brother! I was just playing the same LP at a Guitar Center (used). I've come to realize Gibsons are so hit or miss. I really want a Standard 60's but can't afford it. I refuse to buy one on-line because if this quality control issue. I might even grab a Heritage H150. That played sweet. Any experience with Heritage? Stay healthy everyone. Free Bird 🤟
the QC issues are mostly from the pre bankruptcy days (when this guitar was made). since the new management took over, supposedly they replaced a bunch of burned out lights in the QC dept so now people can actually SEE the guitars they are supposed to be inspecting. i don't know what the hell henry j was doing but clearly his priority was not selling quality instruments. the bankruptcy saved gibson
Change the problematic components and you‘ll have a great axe to play. I‘ll buy another one of these series and make some improvements. I Don‘t either want to pay +3.5k USD for any nostalgic stuff
Also to mention the detuning after one song or even one bend. The nut needs to be replaced if you have one of these LP classic 2017, even the tuners ought to be changed either. Kluson are a good altenative. Otherwise, this guitar is a great tool. Btw: it‘s the dirty fingers pick-ups. These are great for hard rock, even metal. Love them even more than my Seymour Duncans.
I appreciate the advice. I will probably take this to my new guitar tech. And explain to him what’s going on, and see if he can make all these “corrections”
This this the problem why would Gibson make there QC Better if they know 95% of people are going to keep guys with faults. This may sound blunt but you're part of the problem if you're not rejecting defective guitars. The inlay I agree just glue and you're good to go. But there is no way Gibson or Sweetwater should of let a neck twist however slight through QC necks twist don't get better they only get worse over time I can guarantee it'll cause more serious problems in the future. We a consumer need to hold companies accountable when they refuse to police themselves. In my opinion at Gibson's price point no guitar shop leave the factory less that perfect in every way.
Dude. You are absolutely right. It sucks that the my 12th fret inlay is popping out again. Honestly, i should have simply returned it to guitar center knowing they had a 180 day return policy. Now im stuck gluing inlays eternally
Bro i don’t understand the inconsistency with Gibson lately. My inlays are fucked up on my 2017 classic as well. But the stamping on the back of my headstock looks like they let a 3 yr old with a crayon do it. So idk what’s up with that. And My volume pots started shorting out shortly after I got it. Hopefully they figure their shit oh.
I own two 2017 Les Paul Classics one in Cherry burst and one gold like yours. No issues whatsoever both guitar super fucking perfect! Sorry you had some issues but your thumbnail suggests Gibson really fucked up. I also think the pickups are fantastic. You seem more bored than anything else.
@@electricworkshop4462 Because the Company Declared Bankruptcy, changed leadership and changed their direction in late 2018. 2019 models to present day are different.
