Thanks for the video. I was there trying to video my son, but I couldn't get the audio as good as your recording. I used a Rode Video Micro mic, but I guess the distance is too far for a shotgun mic. How did you do it?
I used a Zoom H4N. You can see it right behind Mr. Jones on the stage. It records the audio up front. I also use a Zoom H1 at times. I have the video from the back on a tripod and audio from right up front. I then use a video editing software to put the two back together. (Adobe Premiere, but anything will do. Microsoft movie maker will do.) I remember seeing you there.
Thanks for the tip! I did notice the mic on the stage while filming but I thought it is part of PAC equipment. The audio is excellent on the Zoom recorder, how do you control the level settings since it is too close to the sound source without clippings? do you have a remote level control for the Zoom?
There is a sensitivity control 1-100. For these concerts, I set it to 65. I will then use a piece of software that comes with all Zoom products called WaveLab LE to change the peak volumes to 0db. 65 won't clip, but it may be too low sometimes depending on the number of musicians and ppp vs fff.
