Eliano55 this is a bad idea. Downsizing from 2.0 tdci to 1.5 is horrible. U wont have the punch like 2.0 tdci.

I dont think you understand modenr diesel cars. This 1.5 after chip has 320 NM. This is enough punch to overtake on a B road. And around 130 ps (after chip) is also enough to cruse 140-160 on the autobahn. You dont need more in real world. Ane the 1.5 will take less fuel, and is lighter that also matters.

Eliano55 I own a 1.5tdci, low down from a standing start it’s slow, but once rolling or motorway speed it’s punch for over taking, I’m currently getting over 50mpg and that with a lot of stop start in town traffic. I too looked at chipping it, but I’m not sure the gear box is rated for the extra torque.

@@Theocurrie The gearbox it's near the limit. The limit are 285nm. That is why you only have 270nm. The automatic version comes with 300nm. This engine is actually "limited" by the gearbox.

@@MikePT15 1.5 eco blue 120 KM with manual has 300 Nm (new focus). I work in Ford dealership (transit center), but will ask our mechanics is any difference between focus and mondeo gearboxes. Mondeo 2.0 has 370 Nm.

patrunjel don't forget that this car is in the market from 2014 and it is still competitive. wait until the end of the year that the new generation will be introduced. then we will see which is better. golf has been facelifted 2 months ago. it is logical to be better

in what way? i dont think anycar can handle and erase bumps at the same time as well as the Focus.
