Ouch! Jesse are you calling me an old man!?!? Just kidding. I do like easer eggs, despite being old-ish, I just didn't like the ones on THIS vehicle. They feel a little too cartoonish to me. But....I totally get why you might like it and I fully acknowledge that I was too critical of the Renegade in this review. Not sure why I was so harsh, maybe it was just a bad day?
You just obliterated the Jeep Renegade. I have one and it's freaking awesome. It runs really smooth and it feels solid. You're being too picky especially the about the little things that one can do without.
I agree. I'm not sure why I had such a stick up my butt when I did this review, but I did. I actually like all JEEPS, they're great vehicles. Hopefully, I'll rent another one of these and I can post a more objective review. Thanks for the comment!
I think that this Jeep Renegade is so fun to drive! It’s compact cuts corners just like a small car is easy to park getting in and out of tight spaces is something I try to avoid. But, if this happens the back up camera as well as the windows that kind of wrap around the vehicle makes it easier to see blind spots. I don’t feel safe in most cars but, I wanted something big but, compact this seemed perfect! It came with the nice locked in black rims that you mentioned as well as a roof rack which is important okay let’s go inside.... mine is a 2018 and it has car play on the stereo which connects with Apple iphone 📱 or Android phone 📲 comes with satellite radio for a period of time there buttons you may have mentioned that are behind the steering wheel to control the radio stations phone music as well as volume. Any music apps on my phone automatically appear on stereo screen such as pandora which I love! I also want to say the comfort of these seats are AMAZING 😉 it feels like I’m surrounded in a memory foam chair, I can drive numerous hours and I’ve never been more comfortable. I’ll be traveling to different States in my new Jeep and I’m so excited 😆
I have had a Jeep Renegade since sept 26, 2015. it's jeep yellow and a trailhawk loaded. (No removeable roof) didn't want one. Never owned a Jeep (my son has a 2000 wrangler I drove for about 5 years) love the Jeep concept. This one is now 27 months old and has 23K on the odo, I have nothing bad to say about this small SUV other then it has had the normal things that you get with a new model, recalls and adjustments that were needed and small little repairs they made but other than that it runs well and is a very well thought out SUV. My wife & I love the car and will get a 2018 as long as they still come in Yellow! I had read that the car was slow and underperforms on the expressway. This is HOGWASH! It has 180 HP and runs like my 99 corvette did. I fly with this SUV on acceleration passing everything from a light or passing on the HWY. Maybe mine is a freak but that 9 speed Trans really performs better than expected. Here we are 2&1/2 years later and we are still in love with this car. I hope this review helps with making a decision on whether to buy one or not. I say go for it! I also own a Chevy Silverado & an Avalanche that we keep parked until we need a truck, they are 4 wheel drive also but the jeep renegade works well for us around town and on the highway.
First of all, you do good reviews. They are visually clear and well made. I think some of your complaints are nit picky. Jeep added the little touches to attract younger buyers. The red "splat" on the speedometer symbolizes mud. ( Jeeps are great in the mud ) The x on the taillight symbolizes the way a gas can looked on a WW2 Jeep. The cans had an X built in on them. You are right about the sun visors. They are made to extend the visors when you use them toward the door. All in all a good review, but for a 4 wheel drive Jeep, three stars is a bit low. Three and a half to four would match its capabilities and price better. I don't own one, but, that is my take on your review.

Those side slide outs on the visors are for when you flip you visor to your side window to block the sun which usually are just short of blocking it fully. You slide those out and there you have! I use them on road trips a lot.
I have a the same car,( not 4wd) and it’s totally different. I have digital climate control and electric seats on both sides, I have extra storage in the back above the spare. Heated seats and a heated steering wheel. So not all Renegades are like this one. I also have cup holders in the back with a plug in the back of the center console. I can agree that you can hear a lot of noise on the highway but I love my Jeep!

chris winkler i just got a 2018 Jeep Renegade sport 4x4 manual. And it’s awesome. It’s not really meant for rock climbing but small amateur trails this thing does wonders.
Never seen a electronic mirror dimmer that works. I prefer the old school manual dimmer adjustment. I disagree with the wind noice. At least as with the one we tested. We tested the Mazda 6 sedan, Mazda 6 suv, and then the renegade on the interstate. The Renegade was the most quite and smooth ride of the 3. Gonna get the renegade!
The pull outs on the sun visor is for when you swing it over to your driver's side window and extend to cover more area if you are a driver who sits further back. Its common to have this type of sun visor design in coupes and sometimes in narrow cars.

I’ve owned a new Jeep Wrangler and I loved it so much! It was almost paid off when I traded it In only because I had some surgeries in my knees and was still am in a lot of pain. My Wrangler was not comfortable at all and, the gas was really hurting my pocket.
Solid review 100 rental cars. This is one of the better video reviews in which I've come across here at utube. I can't sit through the majority of the 'reviews' as the commentators are just plain awful. You stick to the points and leave out the drama and goofiness that the others do. Thank you !

Good review! I'm a fan of the Renegades. When you were mentioning the trim levels (Sport, Latitude and Limited,) you forgot to mention the Trailhawk. That's my favorite trim. I've got plenty of videos covering all trims for the Renegade. I just like them. I'm waiting patiently for the new Compass to come out. Late Spring is their date.

Also those little things you’ve mentioned like hidden symbols such as I have a printed spider on the outside of my gas tank there are many of there symbols and, they were put there for amusement kind of something fun. These are called Easter Eggs!
Just rented a brand new Rennie from Hertz for a 600 miles trip to Vegas. Very very loud on the interstate, lots of tire roar and wind noise. Handling in windy conditions was scary - crosswinds blow the slab-sided Jeep all over the road. Got almost 28 mpg on the trip, which isn't awful with the AC on full blast the whole time. It was very mediocre. The Nissan Rouge I rented before the Renegade was much better....

As for you window shades those small trays at the end of each visor are just to block the sun from small places that most cats donor have. Also when you pull your visor out it comes out a lot further then you showed in your video. It took me a couple of weeks to find this out🙏😎
I enjoyed the review but I think your forgetting this isn’t the limited or Trailhawk the limited being the premium trim package and the Trailhawk being the more off road version, I think the features the latitude comes with is very good coming from the second trim level remote start, push start, a real four wheel drive available, my sky, heated seats and steering wheel those two are optional but still available, if you wanted more premium you should reviewed the Limited trim instead of the latitude
Yeah, I don't know why I was so critical of this car. I don't pretend to be objective in my reviews, but I do try to be fair. Maybe I was having a bad day or something? I think I had also just finished driving 2 or 3 Grand Cherokees before this. Not helpful. I do regret the tone of the overall review. Hmm, my 2017 Renegade Latitude 4x4 came with power seats. Back middle seat pulls down to become an arm rest and cup holders. You also mentioned no USB port in the back but mine has a 115v 120W AC outlet. But mine did not come with a spare. Just an air compressor and gas funnel. My seats also don't have "JEEP " printed all over it. Just the Jeep grill logo near the upper back area.
100 Rental Cars I love it. I just recently drove it off the lot with only 17 miles on it. Saturday it will be one week and the mile now reads 270. Handling is amazing. All the hands-free feature is also nice because I dont like to touch my phone when I'm driving. I wanted the Trailhawk trim but that was out of my budget. Can't wait to see how this car drives in the snow. For the price and all the premium features that I got(remote start, power seat, usb/aux/ac, 4x4, touch screen, passive entry etc) I'm very happy with my car.
Looks like you didn’t mention the transmission you have a 9 speed automatic transmission on the right but, when you shift to the left you have a manual 9 gear I pretty much use mine on the highway. This is like the 5 speed manual transmissions that we had years ago! Only this is a slap stick automatic manual that gives you way better gas mileage and you slap the stick forward to lower your gears and slap it towards the back to get 2 through 9 gears. Okay you’ll probably never need to go to 8 or 9 I hope 😂 but, there’s no clutch and, when your going 60 to 75 miles while still in manual mode use can use cruise control. I have gone a few 100 miles In automatic In cruise control mode and my mileage was okay but, I made that same trip adding 200 more miles than I had originally. By using manual gears my mileage was amazing I only put $40.00 In My tank. And the last time not going the extra 200 miles it. Cost me 60.00

Renegade is not good for gas mileage. It has 44 litres fuel tank, and up to 400 km driving range. 9 speed transmission is good for tow, for trials, but not good for day to day regular driving. It's wrong concept for small SUV. But if u r just jeepster, and u don't care anything above, so use it. I guess it reliable.
