Great review. Can't wait to see your adventures. I like the fuel injection too. I was skeptical on injection at first now I've had four bikes with it. This is one of my favorites out of the 300cc class. I like the effort bike companies are putting into the small bike market. A 250 or 300 cc bike is no longer entry level they have cool features like you Kawi. My dad was a small bike fan. To him a 750 was too big. He liked 500cc and below. A better riding experience.

When I seen this bike come out, I thought to myself, wow what a cool bike, this could well be one of the best all around bikes ever made, the 300 would be able to make some good horse power and still be light enough to pick up if it went down. How exciting is this my friend. Good stuff. I am so happy for you both, I cant wait to see both of you two out on these bikes. Thats not a bad price at all. I think it is a great bike especially for the price point. I am happy for you both, you both deserve it. I hope you two have a blessed week. Keep up the fun videos my friend . Dale
Congratulations on the new bike Jay! Now it's time to make them your own with aftermarket options (adjustable windscreen, gearing, grips, mirrors, etc). I know what you mean about the smaller bikes, I love my CB500x although I wouldn't want anything larger. I actually miss my old 250 and I am keeping my eyes open for a cheap dual sport to work on.
My bike is exactly like yours but it is on a ship heading to CA. I am moving from Honolulu to CA, and for about three weeks I am without my Versys. Totally miss it, so I really enjoy your video to help me wait until I get to my new home.
NICE, new bike !! Man, that bike came to deal some cards. I totally agree with Coyote's comment on the 300's segment. That bike with some good tires will outrun a lot of friends ... LOL LOL. Nice one mate !! Bring on some adventures with the new toy !! Cheers
Awesome review and I am glad you got one!!! The 300 class is soooooooooooo *underrated!!!* Things I liked about the X300 over the BMW: Spoke wheels, MUCH better looking dash, decent factory windscreen standard, much better mirrors, and easy to find dealer network if you need repairs while wondering about the USA. I probly *should* have went with the Versys X300 myself, but I like being different and also liked the GS's motor and seat better. That X300 is a beautiful bike! Congrats bro!
I’m glad I found your review, I just found 300x at a great price in Ala. I remember the trip you guys did to New England on your Versys . I appreciate your thoughts on your bike and having ridden mine only 15 miles I love it. Thanks for putting my mind at rest about the 300x. Maybe see y’all at MMM in a few weeks! I’ll be the old guy on the Green Versys
Nice video, yeah I'm now moving down in weight and cc, I have found in recent travels lighter is better. I am looking at getting this for my daughter as a first bike. Think it will be a good one.
Haha,I got to give it the first Like :-p I literally just did a mini-first impressions on this bike after getting to go for a spin on it this week,LOL,great timing! :-D Enjoyed the video,thanks for the impressions,it's on my short list of possibles (fits my needs pretty well) as a 2nd bike,I really enjoyed my hour riding around on one (plus red on the 18's would go well with my CRF250L :-p ) :-)

Cool bike! Friend of mine has one and just loves it. Like you, no complaints about the seat. So you went through all the different mileage modes on the instrument panel, but didn't say what mileage you're getting. Just wanna compare with my friend's Versys X. Thanks.
Ride Now Well, this is only my second tank. The first I filled up after 200 miles. I'm not through the second tank yet, but it looks to be better. I really won't do a good mileage test until after 1k miles. You can't trust numbers on a brand new engine.
Great bike and review. Beautiful riding on the roads you are on. Aren't digital instruments nice? Now, so many features can be included in the instrumentation on bikes.
Nice review, Jay; always good to see a new Hawk Girl channel video. (Hi Misty!) Wouldn't the plural of "Versys" be Versii"? And what's with the "copy everything you do" bit, you should know better by now, she just lets you think it was your idea first (haha). Definitely agree about Interstates, good for making time but not much else; when I rode down to Tazewell last year, rather than using I81 I went down US29 all the way to Danville and across 58 to VA 16 and up, 465 miles that way but a lot more fun; rode up to Winchester last week for a demo day (thanks to 2WheeledRider, Mario Orsini) at the Ducati dealer (great folks there), rather than I66 (and dealing with DC morning rush-hour traffic) I opted to go down by Fredericksburg and up US 17, 150 miles total, maybe an hour more time-wise and a much better ride! (Met up with Gus there; Broncoride, who lives about 1/2 hour from me, unfortunately couldn't make it due to back issues he's dealing with.) I like the analog tach on your bike, not a fan of bar-graph types (that's about the only thing I didn't like about the Scrambler 1100 I demo'ed last week). (Then there's the V4S, rode that a month ago, truly awesome.) Next trip up into PA for family visits I have a route picked that's all state roads, may take seven hours instead of four but who cares? Great vid, I became very interested in this bike about 4 mths ago. What other bikes have you owned that you are comparing it too.? I would like to own one in addition to my W800. Thanks for all your information .The comment about your small garage moving big bikes was me. Stay Safe
It feels pretty good. I’ve held it a 80 for a bit and even though the rpms are high, it’s not uncomfortably high. Very little vibes. I don’t think cruising at 70 will be an issue at all.
How do you how do you spect that thing would go on an average gravel road once in awhile when you're doing an adventure you run off onto the gravel to get back onto the tar sometimes maybe a few miles or if you're really out in the sticks maybe 20 or 30 miles have you tried writing it on the gravel?

Great bike love my one best bike I have owned apart from the xt250f just put 73000km on my green one got me a new red one looks really good to good idea not to change the sprocket as I run into trumble there is talk of a versys 400 put a concepts seat on my one it's very good Cheers

Why doesn’t Harley produce a decent well made little bike that doesn’t cost the earth and once again be ridden by bikers over a certain age without the fear of a hernia ,your big cruisers are fine until you have to push them up a slight slope because some old dear can’t find reverse .Yes still make the big cruisers but diversify into the smaller lighter machines that everyone can use
Like you I have a small collection of small to mid size motorcycle. Most are ADV BIKES. Really enjoy riding smaller bikes over the larger CC Adventure bikes. Great video 👍 Subscribe ya channel.
I forgot the specifics. Someone else did a breakdown how it was possible. But basically Kawasaki didn't do it. Because 1 it'd weight more. 2. This just appeals to a bigger demographic of people.
Why do you feel, like many others, that you need to create a video while you're riding the motorcycle? How about simply sitting down by a campfire and going over the details? We cannot hear you while you're riding the motorcycle. You're not thinking as sharply as you would be if you were sitting down and relaxing.
