I was a bus operator for the MTA have driven most of the bus including the 911 bus out of Staten Island depots I drove both local and express buses and is pretty cool that they have real routes including Staten Island routes I no longer drive the buses I am a dispatcher for the buses in Staten Island but it was very cool experience driving the buses I enjoyed my time as a bus operator
@Sebastian Floyd Ok, well if you are talking about length then that would be a stretched A322 which is under study for a possible variant. However, it would require a new wing, and new landing gear which is something the industry may want, but is not confirmed and there is no commitment from Airbus at this time. An A330-1000 would not be fuel efficient or competitive against a 787, and would not make a solid business case by any means. Not to mention is would also compete with the discontinued A350-800, which also did not have a solid business case, nor any major interest.
I love Transit buses! I am going to drive one when I am older! Also I’ve always wanted one of those toy transit buses! Does anyone know were u can get them?
@Sebastian Floyd Length does not always mean everything, and is not the say all or be all of an airliner. As I stated in another post, it is about fuel efficiency and seat-mile costs. An A330-1000 would not sell, it would also need a new engine and a stronger wing. It is not worth the development cost to create a plane that would likely sell less than the -800neo which only has 11 orders to date. A better choice would be an A350-1000 or a 777x, and that is what most airlines are replacing their -600’s with along with the 787 to a lesser extent. Nothing about an A330-1000 is cost effective for either Airbus or an Airline. Don’t get caught of on the length of planes. Efficiency and capability is what matters. Not how long it is. Not to mention A340-600 was the worse selling Airbus plane ever next to the the A330-800, and A350-800. There is no market for a -1000neo.
