Okay, a few points: 1. I have a 2018 with the CVT and I do not miss the manual. You can easily mimic the manual with the paddle shifters. If you are in S# mode, it is an eight speed not a six speed and the computer is quite responsive to handling what it thinks is the right gear. With the paddle shifters, the eight speed is incredibly responsive. 2. There are a lot of buttons on the steering wheel. I will give you that, but most other cars are now doing that as well. I don't find it that bothersome. 3. The readouts on the climate control and fan control are right on the upper lcd screen and are clear and concise. I have no issues with that. 4. It would have been a nice feature to add blindspot monitoring to the basic and the premium models. I would imagine when they car is redesigned for 2019, they will add that to all three levels. Finally, I really liked your review, especially your enthusiasm while driving the car.

Steering wheel buttons are busy. I'm 13 months in, and still forget what button does what. I wanted AWD, Automatic, reasonably priced, decently fast. Nice looking. For under $30,000(usd) I couldn't be happier. The WRX matched all my wants and 'needs' Audi A3 is significantly slower (more expensive) Chrysler 300? No. No way. Challenger GT ^^^mediocre awd system I test drove 6 different cars and the WRX is the only one I loved.

2019 wrx CTV owner here. Everyone has their own reason (s) to purchase auto or manual, so let’s just enjoy your wrx or sti without any negative comments. I had 12 vehicles before including Toyota, Nissan, BMW, Lexus, etc... I may say this is the first vehicle I would consider keeping it. It’s a beast especially during the snow and raining days in Toronto, Canada. You probably only see Subaru on the road on those bad snow storm. 😎

Worm it's always best to test drive. In my opinion manual will always be better and It's a tried and tested piece of kit but the cvt does a good job as well. mate i can tell you one thing i traded my 18 wrx for a 2.0 levorg sti sport same engine and auto trans as the wrx in Sydney the traffic is awful driving a manual is a workout these days your best bet is to test drive the auto for yourself in all modes meaning intelligent sport and sport# you wont be sorry.

I've owned a 15' CVT since new and now have 242,000 on Original Turbo, motor water pump alternator & original struts and shocks until the other day I ordered some new Hks hypermax coil kit that resembles the OEM but it Is Amazing looking..I bet it will sit like your car..🙌 Mishmoto radiator but everything else stock until I pay it off and wanna go at least stage 1!! It's a fun car alright even after 100,000's of Miles! I am a Driver. 🌞

Love your review~ been watching so many and all I come across is manual vs cvt.. I don't give a heck from that. I live on the island of Oahu, Hawaii and I come across heavy traffic almost every day.. I know how to drive manual but it's come to the point that I hate always having my feet on the clutch and stuff while I'm in bumper to bumper traffic. Getting me one soon!

I have both manual and Cvt Manual FBO pushing close to 400hp Cvt with E60 tune Aem fuel pump Cvt cooler tmic AOS cat back pushing 315hp no one can say the Cvt can’t hold power Becuase trust me it can hold enough if you do the proper mods I love them both Cvt is my daily driver while the manual is a garage queen

This is the best car ever for the price of it, although I would rather manual but let’s just say if you add on $50,000 you could put 800-1000hp, nicer interior and better exhaust. This car is the best for traction like it’s more worth it then a super car
This is a great car troy. You're right. The power to weight ratio is awesome the AWD system is perfectly suited and the drive will keep you xoming back. Manual would have heightened the stimulation but with the amount of traffic we have in our cities today, the automatic is needed. LET'S ROLL OUT not yet I have mod in it srs axel back and turbosx bov and aem cold air intake I can feel the change in horsepower Idk why people hate on the CVT I love paddle shift it sounds like a manual next mod is new clean pipes and pipe catless and maybe lightweight puelly and charge pipe and get access port later

CVT .Meh .Cant handle extra power and is prone for catastrophic leaking .Simulated shifting is pointless .Should have been a dual clutch not cvt .Doesnt belong in a WRX

@@letsrollout7307 hi, thanks for response. Actually i have driven it many times, because i was retail salesman at Local subaru and toyota dealer. I have nothing against automatic transmission in general, I like DSGs, torque conventers etc... i absolutelly hate that characteristic rpm behaviour when its accelerating and other situations. You cannot enjoy the feeling of beeing pinned to seat X times when shifting between gears ( at least not that much). Cmon mate, its WRX, not a f*ckin prius:) Peace with ya
@@Malkus1 i hear you. The constant rev of the cvt can be annoying yes but its better than others like the dodge caliber that we get here in north America.
