I apologize for some wind noise during this video.
This was definitely a mod that I've wanted to do for a while, even before I bought my WRX. This is another quick and simple modification that changes the look of your WRX or STI. love these little simple mods bro.these little touches is how i prefer to do it.super clean.saving up for a wrx myself.it will be my first.i had a 2007 honda Si sedan,grats man

NIce video, i just picked up a 2017 dark grey metallic wrx, put about 300 miles and i am loving the car! Just picked up some rain guards and looking into getting a vortex generator.

Thanks for the vid, i recently threw my v generator on my '17 and the small gap on each side was bugging the hell out of me i wasnt sure if i had got shipped the wrong one. Thanks for the info, i can rest easy now haha

I don't know why they decided to make them like that, but once I wrap my roof black it wont matter much haha.

No one will laugh... Your automatic can whoop a lot manual car out there. Having a Subaru is everyone dreams and your lucky to have one. How I know? Because I own a 2016 limited Cvt WRX and race some manual car out there lol.

WRX Channel Thats something I eventually want to do as well, but I'm kinda nervous to do the wrap myself. I'm sure I can pull it off, but I have no time to do it.

Does it stay on the car well? Like during/after a drive through car wash?

Yeah, I haven’t had any issues with mine. As far as through a car wash I’ve always washed my car by hand so I don’t know the durability in that situation.

Nice, man, I see you have quite a few videos of things I am planning to do myself to my 2017 STI. I am debating with myself about this vortex generator, as if I installed it I would be installing it on my own. Is it hard to line up and install it the way you want on your own? And yeah that bigger subispeed vortex generator does look too big :D

It wasn't that hard to line it up if you're installing it on your own. If you pull up just a little corner of the double sided tape it will hold it in place enough to line it up how you want it.

Did you use the 1.5mm thick 3m tape?

I didn’t put the tape on there, it came with it from the factory. But I believe it is 1.5mm thick.

Dumb question but do you have the limited? I read something about this not working with 2017 limited models. Thats what i have and i don't understand what the diffrence in models would be that it wouldnt work with mine.

I have the premium model. You're correct though, cretin models can't use this vortex generator. I actually just copied this from my accessory catalogs on my Subaru site: Applicable to models without SUBARU STARLINK® Safety and Security Packages. So if you have that equipped on your WRX this won't work.

Do you have the actual part number for this that will fit a 2017 sti limited with 7inch starlink radio?

They just released the part number for the vortex generator for the larger shark fin. The part number is E751SVA010.

Hey man just got my vortex generator , and a little confused , did you pull out that tape from under while it still being on the car ?

The instructions say to pull off a corner on both sides to keep it where you want it and then to pull the rest of the backing off while its on the car. If you were to pull all the backing off and then try and position it and make a mistake, its extremely hard to take the tape off. So keeping it on the car and then taking the backing off is the preferred method.
