Great video it's one thing to see one of Steve's trucks in a parking lot. But seeing and hearing it on the road just adds to the enjoyment. Also you pride in the truck shows. Be safe and enjoy
this is awesome that im able to get to watch you drive a big rig from the perspective of inside the cab. im 18 but im wanting to drive a big rig my self but sadly i have to wait 3 years.......anyways when im 21 im going straight for my Class A and im joining the community with you all, anyways love the video man and keep doing what your doing its awesome
Thanks 4 being conscience about what you are recording you lifted the cable from the cb radio and kept everything clear, great video and great truck as well can't beat you driving a beautiful Pete..... love your truck sir.... thanks for the video I also drove on that freeway a long time ago..... I was hauling for Butler amusement out of Santa Anela..... .....
One of the most amazing roads, from Baker City to Portland on the i84. Love it as you drop down onto the river and follow it all the way to Portland. I drove it in a car, must be amazing in a 389.Life really is good!
Pretty cool. I wish I could of seen you coming through Boise Caldwell. I could of drooled on that new buggy. I appreciate the ride along .that is nothing like working. the old trucks. I am laid up with a broken back. I am going to find something to haul . I need to get back behind the wheel. I will have to go see. Peterbilt Steve. between you and Steve I got the bug bad. enjoy that new buggy in good health. Thank you for sharing.
Wishing you the best jobs in the world on your perfect rig, man. Respect on that! I am speechless. You are one perfect trucker with a perfect truck!!! Can't be better than this. AMAZING!!!
man I sure miss this, I retired and I really do the road your previous footage looked a little bright BUT it still was good enough to see Oregon 84 West through the gorge " Rusty Nail"
Funny but I never listened to the FM radio while driving, the sound of the Pete purring down the road and the CB was all I listened to back in the day. Had my knees in the breeze!
I love your videos driver. At time 7:54 you pointed at the mountain top in the distance. That would be Mount Adam in Washington. Thats the first peak you'll see after leaving Boardman. Also, on your left Mt Hood should be visible too when you get near The Dalles
A couple of things: Great vid, some video needs no commentary, the motor and the radio.are enough sometimes. I live in Oregon and I know for a fact that Mt Shasta is in Northern California. You're probably lookin' at Mt. Hood or Mt. St. Helens. Second you just educated our truckin' public on why manuals are much more effective than automatics. The engine does the work braking and not the brakes and you can choose the best RPM range for control of the truck. None of this overspeeding and stabbing the brakes. Finally, how bout telling us how the Columbia River Gorge was formed, or some of the tribes that used to live there things like that. I'm always fascinated by how the topography changes from place to place and the history. Finally, sweet ride. Nothing better than chillin' in a Pete on the Columbia on a nice day. I teach during the fall and winter and only get to my truckin' in the Summer and early Fall. I really miss the road.......good on ya!!!!!
Noticed the temporary install of the IFTA decal. I put mine at the bottom of the muffler cover so it's easy to peal off every year. Nice scenery, i've traveled both sides of that river many times. If you like SV Delos you need to check out Sailing La Vagabonde.
Allan McCullough I watch Sailing La Vagabond also along with a bunch of others, maybe some day, waiting to get solid stainless box covers and put my ifta stickers there, have to survive April first
your truck is AWESOME !!! 👍👍👍 I was thinking why don't you show Peterbilt Steve this so he could add this to his builds ?? you could show him a thing or two to help him out ?? 👍
maybe a little, but I've been down that road a few times in a 4wheeler. Here in about 2week I hope to start a new chapter in life and start doing the same thing.
charlie perry good deal, hope things work out for you, driving is a rough life style, the first six months are especially hard, when people ask me about driving my advice is NO but if they choose it anyway I try my best to help anyway I can.
Life is Good. I know the first year is going to be rough for sure. looking for a new, and parts of trucking are very appealing where other parts are not.... basically like any job. crossing my fingers
Sweet truck. These have to be converted to right hand drive when imported to Australia. American Truckworks/ Truckworks Australia do it for a living and do the official Australian design Rules conversion. So there are a few on the road but most are upgraded to heavy spec limits. 62.5 metric ton for b-doubles up to around 300,000 lb for rd train. They do the trick. Your truck would retail $300,000 to 500,000 AUS. Look them up at Facebook and see some beauties. Cheers! Your Pete is a beautiful build I have to say! What's under the bonnet? (hood)
rooshooter the new X-15 performance series engine set at 565 hp and 2050 torque mated to an 18 speed manual transmission and 336 rears, Thank you for the info in Australia and cheers mate
Built to pull heavy I reckon. Yep, with heavy set ups MPG is not the question. A road train pull on mostly flat might get you a klm to the litre. I think that is about 2.25 mpg .Gotta do the math. Your 2050 lbs should be good to pull most anything as long as the drivetrain is built to suit. Alot of grunt there for sure!
Hello, I'm from Georgia and have to say the ride is serene and beautiful!! I have a Class B CDL license and don't know if I consider doing trucking, but how long would it take me to get a Class A?? I'm also a military veteran as well.
Loved this drive! No crap music, bonus. Peterbilt music is better than anything. Nice to see the inside of this beauty. NICE NICE NICE truck! That thing could be dirty enough to make a porn star blush and it would still be the prettiest rig on the road.
Robert Paluchowski this setup will not be a good indication of fuel mileage for this new X-15 engine, all depending on weight and terrain and how you drive it but I'm hoping to land around 6.5 mpg, not sure how to convert that for you, This truck isn't designed for fuel economy, sometimes you just have to say who cares, just suck it up and be comfortable and happy 😊
Shay Earl technically it's just a 9 speed and you can split all 9 plus split reverse witch gives you 3 reverse gears, shifter only labels 8, it counts 1st as low, never use that one, I was in the high side of what I consider 8th shifter says 7th, should probably just say 8 because we only shift 8 like a H pattern and spilt the last 4 just because
drayhazel yes that's my trailer, it's a 2014, I just bought it last week and that's why I'm in Oregon, making a round trip down into California to get it polished up, it's lived in Michigan for 3 years and needs shined up a little
