Did the same level kit and have the same 33 KO2s, Shock skids and bed mounted my spare tire on my 17’ gasser. Drove from San Antonio to Moab, drove Fins N’ Things and back. No rub. With front and rear lockers had no tire spin even on the harder stuff. Did beautifully. Congrats, she’s a beast.
For people asking about rubbing with 33's, the only reason he isn't rubbing is because of factory wheels plus the leveling kit. If you go aftermarket wheels and 33's, you will rub. The factory wheel is a +33 offset. I was rubbing with my Alpha Equipt wheels and a +20 offset with 1.25" Eibach leveling springs. I ended up chopping out quite a bit to get clearance at full flex. If you go with a wheel with 0 offset, the rubbing would be really bad.
Love the truck, looking to buy one myself soon. You should include affiliate links in your description to what you have used and bought, makes it easy to find what you used and you might make a little cash haha. Looks awesome though! Been concerned if the 33s would fit and yours looks great!
These 33s do fit with no rubbing with stock wheels. It seems like anything bigger than 32.80 seems to slightly rub on flex. I also have a ready lift 1.25 and a 1.25 add a leaf in the back since I have a shell and a decked system with my gear. The other all terrain tire that runs smaller than ko2s that would fit with no rubbing are the general grabbers atx.
I'm excited I'm getting the 285 70 17 BF Goodrich km 3s I've got a 19 model ZR2 inch and a quarter leveling kit. I also did the three additional badges I ordered the ones for the 2022 tailgate. I debated on getting 285.75-17s but that would require some trimming I didn't want to do. Thanks for the video it's like the 3rd or 4th time I watched it LOL.
I also added the cowel badges be cuz of your video mine are closer to the windshield and my tailgate badge is above the body line at any rate it looks great!!
Just wondering if you still have your ZR2 ? If so how’s it holding up as far as the lift and 285 tires ? Any regrets in general ? Your truck is very well done ! Looks awesome !
very awesome job ...truck looks incredible! i wanna add a muffler tip to miy exhaust also, what size is the original muffler? , also what tonneau cover do you have ?
think the 1.25 lift you have will be better than the 1" level kit from rough country? I have that one but havne't put it on. I want to put 33" BFG KM3's on the stock wheels. Hoping they wont rub. Think that extra .25" makes the difference ? Thanks!
Nice!! what tonneau cover do you have? I finally got a new ZR2 this weekend I traded in my first gen ZR2. I had somebody comment on my channel to come check out yours so I did.
Where did you order the extra zr2 badges. I like it on the back. Should have came like that . I already have the Duramax diesel on the hood but nice touch !
Ordered it from local Chevy dealership it is just the front grill badge. It is curved but broke off the tabs on the back and then filled the void with epoxy let dry overnight and then bought dbl sided stickey tape and applied
@@kylezr2218 I'm an employee, stopped into the parts department today. They're listed here at $40 CAD. Picked one up to do my tailgate. ty for the idea!
Yes those are factory ZR2 wheels and no because you are not adjusting the shock you are putting the leveling above the shock and not changing the spring compression
Looking hard at a 2019 Colorado ZR2 with diesel. Love your setup. How did it affect the ride after your leveling kit install. These trucks ride and drive fantastic.
Honestly I don't see a difference in the ride it rides just like it did. Your right these trucks ride fantastic. I did go with the E load tire and thought it would make it rougher for a everyday driver but I'm happy with it. The ride is still comfortable
I have a 2017 zr2 and want to do a level kit. Could you send me a pic of what the truck looks like from a distance? I plan on putting 33’s on it as well. Thanks
How much did the height of the truck increase after the leveling kit and 33’s were put on? Asking because I have a low garage and would still like to park inside. My factory antenna had to be changed because that would hit. (Just to give an idea on how low my garage is.
I have a 2017 ZR2 and thinking of getting 33's too, with the 1.4" leveling kit. By any chance the tire sticks out? I'm curious, thanks. Anymore videos would be appreciated. Cool ZR2!!!!
Kyle, I have the Eibach leveling springs on my 2019 ZR2. Do you think these 33 inch tires would work on my truck without any trimming? Thank you for your time and help.
I put the ready lift 1.25 level kit on front and have no rubbing. If the Eibach is the same height I would say it would but can't speak for there product. Don't want to say yes and then your truck start to rub
@@kylezr2218 thank you sir. I plan on talking with the shop that installed my springs and confirm what the maximum would be without rubbing. I know the 275/70 will work without any issues, but the 285/70 look really good on the truck.
I have a '17 ZR2 totally stock. So with 33's with just the leveling kit, you never experienced rubbing issues with the front tires even after off roading?
That's it just a leveling kit 1.25 from Ready lift. It is a tight fit especially when you turn the wheel but have had no rubbing . There has been rocks and debris thrown up into the little plastic piece just under the fender which has been damaged a little but not a big deal
Painted the center cap red first and then taped off the chevy bowtie itself with a razor blade then peeled away the excess tape leaving the raised part off the bowtie still taped up. Then I used black Plasti dip something that can take a little impact if need be. Let sit for a bit tand then peeled taped off the raised part of the bowtie to reveal the red. Has held up well
Looks like i'm going with the AEV Snorkel. Should get it any day now. Not looking to forge water but would like to have more air flow to the motor and would like to see how it does here in Colorado with the altitude and of coarse the look
Just got a 2019 zr2. Would I be able to use the exact leveling kit you used? Also did you keep your wheels stock and jsut purchase bigger tires ? Or you changed both ? Is 33 the biggest we can go with out modding the wheel house ? Thanks man. Ik it’s a lot but I’m just trying to do some minor changes until I’m completely happy with my truck.
As far as I know if it is a ZR2 there should be no difference on the leveling kit. I used a 1.25 ready lift. I used the stock wheels from GM and replaced the tires. I would stick with the 285/70r17 tires and not go larger because it is pretty close and I think you would have to trim. I did not have to trim mine with that tire size.
He would need to cut then. The only reason he doesn't rub off-road now is the factory wheel has like a +33 offset. I rubbed with +20 offset Alpha Equipt wheels just turning into steeper driveways, I ended up cutting out quite a bit. A 0 offset wheel rubs badly with 33's.
I would say yes they come from factory with them and when you add the level you are extending the distance. Just protects the shocks from compressing to far
Used epoxy to fill the void and made that flat then used dbl sided high strength tape to adhere seems to have worked well. They are still on and looking good you do have to break the little tabs off the back of the badge
