this isnt an excuse for Kentucky, but SIU will probably be really good this year and may make the tournament. UK did well to recover and pull this one out with such a young team
Calipari is not a good coach, the dude had talent like crazy with the Nerlens team and missed the tournament, any other coach has that talent they do something....he is a good bullshitter getting recruits to Lexington and they do go pro cause there top talent recruits but 1 title in 10 years?!?!?! He could of done better than that.
I'm not saying at some point in the season that Kentucky won't be playing like a top 5 team, but right now this team is way overrated. In two games now, they've shown absolutely no defensive intensity at all, and against Southern Illinois, I believe it was 11 turnovers they committed in their first 16 possessions tonight in the first half alone. You turn the ball over like that your gonna have teams hanging around that shouldn't be hanging around. Tyler Herro has really got to get his game on track too. For a kid that came in with such a big reputation as a shooter, he hasn't shown anyone shit yet against Duke or Southern Illinois. P. J. Washington really needs to pick up his intensity as well on both ends of the floor. Kentucky really needs Washington to turn into a beast this year for them to have the kind of success they envision having, IMO. GO CATS!!
I really enjoyed your analysis and can't agree anymore . I was telling a bunch of my friends before the start of the season that Kentucky should be in that 13-18 range. I mean it will take some time to figure out the starting lineups and how they go with substitutions but at the end of the day please tell me how a team out rebounds the other by 30 and takes to the final 3 minute's to seal the game. SO DISAPPOINTING!
When Kentucky is halfway through its SEC schedule, they will not be Ranked in the Top 25. This team pulled away late against a non-Power 5 team at home. If this game lasted 7 more minutes, Kentucky could have been looking at a lose.
