Finals run of the Central Valley Marching Band's 2018 production: "Empire State" at the NWAPA Championships at the University of Oregon on October 27th 2018.
I played snare in marching band back in highschool and loved every bit. This was such a long performance and you had such a fun energy while doing it. I very much enjoyed reliving this experience through you. You cracked me up with the " dut dut, pizza hut!" 🤣.
You guys are on some Rue Nani Nahn level stuff, and I love it! Black Hills loved you guys, and we were glad someone was able to kick butt repping Washington at Hillsboro
Absolutely loved the drum covers. Used to March in high school and now have been in fire and EMS for 12 almost 13 years. Fitting tribute to the FDNY and the 10 house
Thanks. We took the whole band to New York about 2 months before this video was taken and kind of stumbled upon the 10 House and the memorial wall next to it while wandering around near the 9/11 memorial site. The realization of where we were and what we were looking at was something that's stuck with me ever since. Absolute selflessness and true heroics to do what they did that day. We just wanted to do a little something to pay tribute, even from all the way over here in Spokane, WA
@@huntpercussion4844 that’s absolutely amazing. I just recently watched the whole show from the point of the stands it was outstanding. I always get chills when I hear a drum corps or marching band do Empire State of Mind. You guys absolutely killed it!
Thank you for this awesome treat! I played TriToms (“Triples”) in my marching band in 1978! Yep that long ago!!! Still some of the best memories of my 62 years!
Hey I’m in the drumline at mountainside and your show this year was amazing. It is great to have a band to look up to that is so good but also has a great community and looks like it’s a blast to be in. Every performance we would always get so excited to watch you guys and most of our band wants to be in yours including me. I hope the drumline at mountainside can get just as great as yours not only in our playing but in the genuine camaraderie. You guys are amazing!
Great job! I was there at champs and loved your show. I remember the comp you guys went to the week before champs you guys went on prelims with no one knowing who you were, and by the end of your performance got a stand ovation. It was absolutely amazing seeing your show this season. You guys had really clean beats from what little i've heard from your lot and its hard to tell from GoPros but still no doubt an amazing job! I wish I could perform in a band of this size.. Unfortunately, some schools have stacked batteries that score high while the rest of the band is small and or shit. For example, my school has had a top 6 drumline for years but our band is shit and gets bottom places every time so we don't get to hype our last performance and we just want to get on with and be over. It's literally an embarrassment to say what school I march lol. P.S LOVE the full tilt on your guys' drums.
Lonple fun fact about them the last time The were here besides now was 2015 and the first time in 2011 they beat west Salem but in 2015 they got 87.35 in 6th losing to kamiak southridge grants pass evergreen and West Salem and this is in order
My schools marching band got cut years ago. The lower level band performs for the football games and the upper level band (which I’m in) marches in the parades. The drumline has every single percussionist of both bands on it and I only performed with them once. I wanna go back but there are so many of them that they can’t fit me in.
We're actually from Washington but competing in Oregon yes. We took the band to NYC about a month before this video was taken and went through the memorial and visited the firehouse that our drums were honoring.
I love the steer shells they’re FDNY engine and ladder trucks, and and rescue belly bands why is he yelling on the field when I was in marching band and drum corps. There was no talking on the field. You would get tick’s for it because it judges would be out on the field with you walking through the ranks
