I so look forward to the comparison between 2017 & 2018 model, interested in display, battery & performance differences. Thank You Lisa Keep up the hard work, we love your videos.
I've had this laptop for more than 2 years and I love it so much. I got the rose gold model because it just looked so gorgeous online but in person it looks even better.
Thank you Lisa! What a fun and useful review. I learned more about the XPS from your video than I did from reading several (non-video) reviews. You're a peach.
Thin and lights are so much more portable that you have to carry extra dongles that take up more overall space than (or require extra carrying containers over) a slightly thicker laptop....
thanks for clarifying the new 9370 HD screen is glossy, there's many videos that show the HD model with a glossy screen but dell online chat have said twice that the full HD model is a matte screen
Got this one on sale at the MS store - love it so far. The screen is incredible. There is a fan noise issue that multiple people had noticed (check out a thread on the dell site), but with a new BIOS update it seemed to be somewhat better. Anyone who had similar issues please comment - otherwise a near-perfect laptop
Returning mine. :( Am I the only one who had keyboard problems? Sent it in to Dell and they replaced the keyboard, which worked for a day or so, but is unuseable again now. Too bad - loved how fast this was and the form.
Thanks for your vids, they’re super helpful. I’m in the market for a laptop (which is how/Why I came across this vid) and came across Huawei laptops. Any thoughts on the MateBook x pro? If you have a review available, please feel free to simply share the link. Thanks in advance!
Hi Lisa, you do great reviews. I have heard from different online sites, that the key issue with the XPS 13 is the Killer Wifi Card that is constantly dropping. Any comments on this?
Nice review! I've been using QHD+ Yoga laptops since 2013 and the screen is great. I love it for pictures and very crisp text. You need lots of pixels to represent curves. I'm glad to see Dell getting in the game. I bought a Yoga 900 with 8GB/256GB for $900. Dell won't be competitive with that. Actually, neither is Lenovo anymore. They also got rid of the soft plastic palm-rest also. Fortunately, I plan on sticking with this Yoga 900 (knock on wood) for 5 years. By then, we'll hope sanity returns. I did wish I could plug in an external graphics card, but frankly, I just wish Intel supported Linux better. Firefox doesn't use Intel hardware decode on Linux. Why get a better computer when Intel can't taking advantage of what I already have?
Hey great review! And thanks for the review of last years model with this. Wanted to ask if you would recommend this laptop as a main laptop for video editing? I don't really want to go for the 15 due to size but is it worth doing? 13 or 15 model for video editing? Some 4K video editing. Thanks.
As usual a lovely review Lisa! I'm in the market for a 4K 13-14" ultrabook and I'm deciding between the Lenovo Yoga 920, HP Spectre and the XPS 13. Any suggestions on what to get? Cheers. :)
Excellent review as always, but, there's no reason to buy this over the macbook pro, at least support won't be an issue, also, the LG Gram 2018 CES refresh looks like the perfect laptop, is there any by chance for that review
Sadly, there is one HUGE issue with the new 9370 that made me chose the 9360 instead and that is the changed keyboard layout of Brightness and Page navigation keys (PgDn, PgUp, Home, End).
The smallerfication I feel is kind of disappointing. Smaller ports, smaller sd card slots, smaller battery. Considering it is such a high grade laptop, feel like we should not have to deal with dongles for even a typical mouse or USB drive. The battery I guess is still pretty good so I could see why they made the sacrifice in that department. The cooling system is great, sounds like my legs will stay like legs rather than cooked sausages. It makes sense in a portable device as outside temperature is probably a greater influence than bench mark temperature.
Hi Lisa, Would you recommend this notebook for amateur video editing (my channel), right now I am using the iPad Pro 10.5 with Luma Fusion which works nice. Points I don’t like tho: - not able to connect my external hard drive - not beeing able through the adapter putting data back onto camera/USB etc. - slow charging - Missing keypad (don’t wanna buy the Apple one, doesn’t seem right tried it before) - not able to get data on or off my phone (Honor8pro) via USB I want something light for traveling, good battery life, great performance, and beeing able to do the stuff mentioned above Would love to heart from ya Cheers Michael
Lisa does this model 9370 have fan noise problem? Because, I bought one and it had huge fan noise problem.so, I returned it and got a Huawei Matebook X Pro. It’s a great laptop as every reviewer is saying. One small annoying issue is the trackpad rattle noise and also not sure about the support from Huawei should any issue arise later. Also, the knockoff design is a bit weird. So, for these reasons I am planning to exchange it again for a 9370. But I want to know if fan noise is a known issue with XPS 9370. Please help
Love it. Thanks, Lisa! Love the T-shirt too! I'm wondering if the Rose Gold color only comes in the newer 2018 model? And can someone tell me if there's a big difference between i5 and i7 Intel processors? I'm not a gamer, but I do need to do a lot of writing, multi-tasking, and taking online classes and I can't have anything not performing well. At the same time, I can't afford much either. Advice? I also saw an HP that seemed to be the equivalent of an i3. Would that be good enough or should I not consider i3 and below? It sure was a lot cheaper!
Can someone explain to me why the dell logo is above the web cam? Wouldn’t it be better if it’s the opposite... Dell logo would still be well visible and the angle for the cam would be at least a little better. I also think it would look it tad nicier since it would somewhat blend in with in screen (when it’s off). Not a dealbreaker but it seems like an odd choice
It’s cpu performance is almost as good as some i7-7700hq gaming laptop. So I’m really wondering if an eGPU added, can it turn to some high performance gaming laptop. Because that will be a perfect solution for college students who play games but don’t want a heavy and bad-looking laptop
I hope I can find an answer to this question here. I have a Lenovo P70 and I recently received two 4TB 2.5" Samsung SSD drives and a 2TB PCIe NVMe drive as gift. Would all those 10TB work fine alongside the 512gb NVMe the laptop already has? I just wanna make sure before attempting something irreparable. Thanks
Do you have scrolling issues? If I scroll through come its unusable, edge is little bit better, same happens ins pdfs word etc. I installed all latest updates..
Hi Lisa, I am contemplating between Dell xps 13 (2018) and Lenovo yoga 920 both quad core machines . Please can share your thoughts on which would be a better laptop and a comparison report between the two. Of course I love your T-shirt slogans :)
MobileTechReview thank you for your advice :) . Is the Lenovo yoga 920 keyboard and trackpad better than dell XP’s 13? Appreciate any observations you might have made here between the two.
I got the ASUS ROG Strix GL702VS-RS71 last summer for 1700. It might be a bit cheaper now. It has a 1070 and it's 17.3". Has an HDD but it was very easy to install an M2 SSD
The Acer Predator Helios starts around $1100 and is available with a 1060. Review here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nMaX1p_7mx0.html
@ Tim Tam: Yeah if you want to pay double price, for similar performance, yes then you're right. For people wanting most bang for the buck, you're obv. as clueless as the rest of the Apple muppets, growing money trees in the backyard :)
I would love to see a comparison between the old and new XPS 13. Mainly battery life and performance in different tasks like video editing and web browsing. I would also like to see a review of the 2018 XPS 15
