Great video. Would it be possible to unclip and remove the plastic mask from the cluster unit and exchange just the mask with another second hand cluster unit. I just have a crack in my cluster, but it works fine
@@ALXMARTINSorry for the late reply, Yes I bought a second hand unit and it was easy to swap over just the plastic mask to my cluster unit, a couple of screws and an easy unclip. It fitted with no issues.
Thanks for uploading this. I had the same thing happen to my gauge cluster and tried everything to take it off, thought they were just water spots but it seems like something etched the plastic. I just ordered the cluster lens part (about $30-40 shipped) and plan on installing it tomorrow. Here’s the part number: DS7Z-10890-B
I have to do this on my ford edge. Seem like it is the same. I would like to try and just change the clear cover. Who sells this part? Other than the dealer? Thanks for the video.
I heard a guy tell me once he sent his cluster to a place that does odometer corrections because he dropped a used motor in his escape 2.0 ecoboost and wanted the miles on the dash to match his engine miles. Said a place had to do it because it was not something he was able to do.
@@rubenclark8017 100%. Just because someone puts a motor in with less miles than their vehicle has does not permit them to rollback the odometer. The chassis and other components still have the same amount of miles regardless of an engine change.
I doubt that anyone that’s certified to work on Ford/Lincoln would ever do this work or adjust the amount of miles on the odometer. Plus, it’s all computerized. No way would Ford make that a simple task to do. That’s if it even is possible bcuz a good chance exists that changing the amount of mileage will be impossible.
