In this video I will show you how to install the JS7Z-19A361-A amzn.to/3S54Co5 OEM Perimeter Plus security and remote start module in a base model 2018 Explorer. I'm using this programmer ebay.us/t6pyII in this video, but this cheaper one amzn.to/3I5fEFm will work with Forscan quite well also. You will need to download Forscan forscan.org/do... on a Windows computer and get an Extended license, which is free. forscan.org/su...
Or, if you have access to Ford IDS or FDRS, you can use that as well to enable the remote start system. If you dont have a hood pin, on the Explorer you will need the following parts in addition to add the hood pin and wiring harness. BT4Z19G366A and GB5Z14B504A. For more info, check out accessories.fo...
This video is applicable to the following vehicles, which all use the same Perimeter Plus module.

Great Video.Base models are lots of work indeed. I had the same experience. Using the 12Volt Solution. Running the hood switch was tricky. The remote start menu is not showing, and the AC is acting funny, first 30sec or so, the front works, slightly cooling, then it switches off, the rear kicks in, but max heating. I wonder if activating the IPC remote start Climate Control it will fix the issue

It should fix it. You definitely need the make the changes to the BCM and IPC in order for the system to function properly

Why do you have to turn the Perimeter Alarm to disabled. Is this so you don’t need the pigtail? Does this keep the factory perimeter and perimeter plus from having an issue working together?

Yes. It allows the factory alarm to work normally.

Does the remote start have a jumper for if the vehicle has the factory permitter security? If not will it work with it or cause problems?

I installed my alarm and it does nothing. Do you need to program it?

You do what I did in the video. Did you try locking doors with remote. Have window down. Then reach inside and open door. Alarm should sound. If not, something isn't right.

@JackofAllMasterofNone when you installed it, did it automatically turn on and recognize it? Did you have to enable it in forscan first?
