2018 Honda Gold Wing Tour Review | First Ride 

This is the first time I've ever wanted a goldwing- it's actually good looking for a tourer. I could never afford one or ever be able to justify buying one but the thoughts are there.

I like how you can objectively review motorcycles for what they are from a 300cc versys to a liter sports bike to a Goldwing. Keep up the good work!

Not in a million years did I think I would ever want a Goldwing. But when I looked at and sat on a new 2020 it blew my mind! WOW what a machine! This isn't the old man's bike of yesteryear. It's a sporty sleek touring machine. I gotta have one! I thought I wanted a new Indian or Harley Ultra to tour on but when I sat on the Goldwing it was instant facination. It's been a long long time since sitting on a bike absolutely blew me away

Nice bike! If ever a bike was going to tempt me into the dark side of overweight but comfortable cruisers it would be this one - nice blend of modern, practical(-ish!), and elegance.

Dam honda out done themselves the goldwing used to be an old mans bike but now I'm only 19 and I want one. But since I'm broke Imma just get a used cb650 nighthawk :(

I like what they did to the bike all except shrinking up the storage capacity. A lot of people buy a goldwing to travel long distances comfortably and that also means having the space needed for all your gear needed usually for two people. Especially on the touring model. But other than that it looks and seems like an awesome touring option.

Copied the BMW front end. Good choice. Lot of owners complain about it bottoming out. For $2000 you can buy larger lids for the side panniers and the top box from corbin that are the size it should be to begin with. Still has minimal cornering clearance, too bad. No wireless apple car play. A Honda Civic has it for less money than a 2022 goldwing ? Crazy.

Im on my 5th wing . Today i got the chance to try a 2018 1800 at my local honda dealer . HOLY SMOKES , WHAT A BIKE ! :-) Some day when i win the lottery i will buy one ...

They shouldn’t have reduced the storage capacity.That was a huge selling point for the Goldwing.

Why is there a "Touring" model of the Goldwing? Like what else would you be doing on it? Reminds me of newer Ferraris with a "Sport" mode.

Some might say this is actually good looking... I’m one of them.

Dunno; the reduction in storage capacity and fuel capacity is a bit of a turn off for me, especially the side panniers. Maybe that's because I've huge fiberglass bags on my motorcycles, but the lesser storage capacity has me on the fence. Ditto for the reduction in fuel storage. Other than that, I'm loving this new G-Wing. One day, hopefully, Honda will bring back their big V-Twin cruisers to add to their big-bike lineup (one can only dream).

I'm on my 2nd GL1800, and have waited years for Honda to update this bike. I'm totally disappointed with the changes Honda made; loud exhaust, too high seat, luggage capacity so small not to fit to FF helmets. The '18 is now a sport tourer, IMO, and competes with many other bikes, and doesn't win in that category. I'll keep my '06 GL, and buy a naked for another type of riding.

Lovely Bike , if I had the money that'll be the bike of my choice , I've always wanted to own along with the Ford Capri.

This is a car. This is legitimately a car. I'm actually waiting for Honda to offer some sort of detachable roof with drop down doors (maybe called Weather Barriers) so that I don't have to bother with two vehicles anymore. Not bashing Honda or the Goldwing, but especially recently these bikes have gotten to be that whole level of extra. Heated seats, AIR CONDITIONING, full sound system, etc., If I didn't live where it snowed I would just buy this and not look back.

I like everything I heard except less storage. The whole purpose of this thing is long rides and more stuff to pack...?!

The ‘ultimate’ ST - but I did notice near the end of the video that the rear suspension was pogoing across a bridge - whilst the front was good! Hope the front talks to the rear.

Honda totally killed it with this bike. Im too young to ride and to afford one but man I wouldnt mind owning one to go on some long rides.

Once there was the GL1500 Wing. Then along came the BMW K1200LT. That forced Honda to release the 1800 Wing earlier than planned (Look it up). BMW a cople or so years ago released there K1600LT. and it's taken Honda until 2018 to release this latest incarnation of what has always been a great bike. I have in the past owned a 1500 Goldwing, which I believe was released to better the BMW K100LT, which I have also owned. I currently own and Love a BMW K1200LT, which is a fantastic machine. It is super comfortable, has pretty much everything that was available on the first generation 1800 Wing, but is a Lot Lighter and handles a Lot better? Why has it taken Honda until 2018 to put a Power Screen on the Wing? My K1200 was built in 1999, and came as standard with a Power Screen, a Decent Stereo, Reverse Gear, Heated Grips and Seats, and Decent Luggage Capacity. I am yet to ride a K1600, but my guess is it's at least as good as the latest Wing?

Totally dig this one! The lighter weight and new front end has me interested.

It looks more nimble for rider maneuverability (big plus )but not as comfortable for the passenger on long trips..I like it and hate it at the same time.

It's a great move and nice to see it doesn't have a 12 foot high windscreen like many of the previous models had as add-ons. The 6 speed is a disappointment as this bike would be much better served with a 4 or 5 speed so the only real choice is DCT. But $30k is a lot of cash and a real stopping point

It is completely unbelievable that Honda made the trunk too small to easily fit a full sized helmet, let alone two large helmets and some additional items! It is unacceptable to have to go to the after-market for ANYTHING for a $30,000 motorcycle. I will not buy the a Gold Wing until the storage space issue is fixed.

Still the only motorcycle in the world with an optional airbag (for $31K). Honda has never told us if the airbag is effective or not!

I like the redesigned look and the front W/B but, that storage space is pitiful. I'm not in the market but, I'd like to demo ride to feel how that new motor runs.

I wonder how easy it is to adjust the suspension for heavier riders? On my VTX I put HD progressive springs and it was a huge improvement over the way too soft front end that fully compressed under hard braking. Will this maintain suspension height against front end dive like BMW's does (or even the Suzuki Burgmann to a lesser degree)? It certainly appeals to me much more that the previous model.

At that weight, price and size I would rather be riding a Miata, Corvette or any other convertible sport's car. I'm glad for those of you who were waiting for it. 😎

I can't believe Honda didn't hear the howling chorus of discontent over its decision to dramatically reduce storage capacity in the 2018 new release. The 2019 is identical. You cannot get 2 large helmets in the top box. And I'm supposed to TOUR with this? I'll stick with my oh- so- last- year's- model Gold Wing.

I've been looking at them (2018 -21) hard. The luggage kills this bike for 2 people.

I bought a 2018: the seat sucks, you sit on it not in it, the radio sucks, the front end bounces a lot you need to adjust to it, vibrates all the time!
