Ishmael Williams After their last TD, Auburn offense switched to mostly run plays to kill the clock and took out Stidham for the 4th quarter. They stopped trying to score. They even went for it on 4th and goal from the 12 and ran the ball, instead of a pass play or a field goal....

@@derricklanders7260 Well, florida was clearly faster than michigan today as well. So I'd say so far... the stereotype seems to be true. Only clear team with speed in the Big10 would be OSU.

@@PurpleeTv Obviously you haven't seen PSU play, N'western's or Maryland's RB's...but Kentucky will see it in a couple of days (PSU). Conversely it can be said that outside of Alabama the offensive line play in the SEC is suspect with no power football to speak of and an "over reliance" on this speed that SEC fans gets off on...that's why many RB's up to a few years ago didn't like B1G - style of football because it has never abandoned power football (and I hope that it doesn't). Side Note: Saquon Barkley recently said that he had to "re-learn" what is was like to take hand-offs from a QB under the center and straight ahead running, because James Franklin basically brought with him that SEC-style offense ("forever shotgun" we call it) and had Barkley running out of that for the last 2 and half years. It's not lost on people that several of the most productive RB's in the NFL today (including Barkley and Ezekiel Elliott) are from the B1G because pro-sets are more akin to B1G styles of attack than the SEC's style (Stanford and Notre Dame are big proponents of the pro-set offense). I think there's too much "Zone Read" in the NFL right now, but it hasn't sold out to to guys flying all over the place ie SEC offensive play (Minnesota Vikings are big on power football).

@@derricklanders7260 I think this is more of a take on the NFL rather than the speed of the big10, but I'll just restate that I don't think anyone believes the big10 is faster than the SEC. Sure certain teams will not abide to that stereotype...give or take, but as a whole... speed is just a little more prominent in the SEC, and so far... it has shown. Also, the NFL is still heavily dominated by what I like to call "old generation players", the league is filled with pro style players, largely due to the fact that up tempo speed offenses were not around when those players played in college. The NFL will change soon, it just makes since. Most colleges are relying on spread, because it works. The NFL will soon be the same, once more younger athletes get into the league, and the veterans retire. We are already starting to see it with the Chiefs, Rams, Eagles, Cowboys and sometimes the Saints, and look at where those teams are ranked in terms of power rankings. The game will change, simply put.. it's innovation.

SEC is that good. Auburn stayed with Alabama until the 3rd quarter, when our offense kinda just stopped working and our defense got tired.

Auburn also beat Alabama and Georgia at #1 last year and lost to LSU who got blown out by Miss st who we blew out who lost to Ole Miss so I'll say the SEC is pretty good,especially this year but Auburn will improve next season and will be back in 2019-2020 and Miss St and whoever else beat us will have hell to pay.

I think we found out tonight that two of the four didn't belong in the playoffs lmao. Every one hating on Ohio state but look what happened with ND and Oklahoma. Oklahoma had problems with a Texas team that couldn't beat Maryland and ND played a close game against a Michigan team that Ohio State beat the shit out of. Oh and Ohio state beat two teams that Purdue lost to so its pretty safe to say they over looked Purdue.

We also handily beat Washington. And we could have scored whatever we wanted. Malzahn began playing really conservatively in the second half. We honesty didn’t mean to beat them that bad.

Auburn is good. They even beat a now New Year Six Bowl team. Also put up Alabama's toughest regular season game other than TAMU who they beat. Just the loss at LSU started things going down. Now Gus is calling offensive plays as well, starting this game. They are underated

Teams can improve, but there are certain losses that are inexcusable unless half your starters can't play that game. Losing to Purdue like that, Ohio State had no business being anywhere near a discussion about who should be in the playoffs.

purdue was a trap game for them. It was a close game until a roughing a kicker call in the 4th quarter that gave purdue a new set of downs. They scored a TD then Ohio st just sort of gave up. It was very obvious. Score did not imply anything. Auburn would get waxed by ohio state and i'm a Clemson fan.

Says a IU fan. Fun fact Purdue has sent 24 men to space and IU has been to 11 bowl games. Also Purdue has the most big ten championships in basketball. And drew Bree's went there. Rod Woodson went there and Purdue has the most hall of fame nfl quarterbacks. Purdue deserves to be in the big ten unlike a school like Rutgers and finally Purdue is still rebuilding from Hazel years and is finally getting better. There not getting kicked out any time soon.
